Hi this is my first post

thanks for the info on the Christmas party I can't wait to go to it I'll be going on the 15th of December with my girlfriend ::MickeyMo

Yayyy...that is when we are going!

I read on this other thread with someone asking about MVMCP...People were really saying that they thought it was so crowded. Some woman was saying that it was difficult to even get around in the park. (???) She was saying she went in 2000. I wonder how much more crowded it was back in 2000 and if it was because maybe they used to let more people in. They got to me, now I'm all worried about it!

It's all perspective or where you hang out in the park etc...some parts can appear crowded and some can seem manageable.

My first party was MVMCP in 2000 and we loved it. I've gone also in 2001 and 2003 and did MNSSHP 2002, 2004, 2005 and will do my 4th MVMCP this November.

If you go in with a plan and decide what your priorities are you'll do fine. It's a great time.

For me it's the parade, photo, fireworks and maybe catching a show or two with a couple of rides mixed in.

Try not to worry and go and enjoy!

We have a 6:00 reservation at Tony's Town Square on 12/18 for MVMCP. We didn't plan to use our park passes that day. Can we get in at 6:00 with our MVMCP tickets?

Sorry if this has already been addressed in this thread!

JoEllen

When we made PS for CP the latest time we could get was 3:45. "Chester" who made our reservations told us we would be able to get in for that seating with just our party tickets... sure hope he's right. :flower:

I've been to 6 parties now between MNSSHP and MVMCP and they have only let people in starting exactly at 4:00p. A line forms.

They are already giving us an extra 3 hours by letting us enter at exactly 4:00p.

You should be prepared to be about 20 minutes late for your ADR just in case.

I am thinking about going this year. I was wondering if my AP is only good for certain nights or can I get any night that is open? Thanks

Thats awsome :earsboy:

We went down last year around the same time and went to the MVMCP. Certain sections of the the park had alot of people but no more than regular. We didn't find it hard to walk around. Also I don't remember when but Disney use to have free admission to the MVMCP for Florida residents. I don't remember when they stopped this but if it was still going on then it might explain things since now they control the crowd level. :earsboy:

Ok, all my tickets are in my passporter, which I p[lan to bring with me into the park. Should I leave my MVMCP tickets back at the vacation home or bring them with me? I have copies of the ticket backs - will they replace these if I show them the backs? I know I'm obsessing but I don't want anything to ruin the surprise for my kids!! I don't think anyone (cleaning people) will be in the vacation home while I'm out so I guess they would be safe. I guess I'm just wondering about their replacement policy.
Any Thoughts?

Thanks for the info... I think I'll get a different PS... after 4:00!!!

Wow! I had a hard time getting a room with the discount code. I couldn't get one at POR where I originally had one booked. I ended up having to stay at coronado springs. I am a little disappointed because I have already stayed at that resort, but I just couldn't get anywhere else. I have a feeling things are going to be crowded the first week of december.

Let's hope it's just b/c Disney isn't offering as many rooms as before at a deep discount. :goodvibes

how do you think the crowds would be for the sunday Nov 27 .Do you think it will be extremely crowded.

I'm going on the 27th as well and would love to hear people's opinions. Do you think it will be crowded because it's the first party of the season or not crowded cause it's still November and not so close to Christmas? I'm also wondering if crowds will be thinner cause everyone's going home after Thanksgiving? (This is my secret hope!) :goodvibes

We were at the first party after Thanksgiving last year. I thought it was REALLY crowded - more crowded than MK on Thanksgiving evening, unfortunately. We are going to WDW for Thanksgiving again this year and are going to that first party on the 27th as we need to fly home on the 28th. I honestly was very surprised & disappointed at how crowded that first party was last year considering how they supposedly limit the number of tickets sold. I think a lot of Thanksgiving crowd does stick around for this first party. After last year, we said "never again" to going to the MVMCP, but here was are.....going again. How can we be there and NOT go??? :confused3 Oh well....maybe it won't be AS crowded this year. (We can hope!!) ;)

We are going to do things a bit differently this time and give it a second go. Earlier dinner ADR - maybe just counter service. I am checking into TGM, too, to get his view on a plan for that night.

Happy planning!

We are going on the 18th and have never visited so close to Christmas. We are usually there the first week. Can I assume it is more crowded the closer to the holidays?? :earsboy:

Woo-hoo! Got our party tickets in the mail yesterday! Going to WDW for a quick weekend trip in December. We will be at the party on 12/16.
This is our first party and we are very excited. Since we are AP holders, we planned on arriving at MK earlier in the day. We have an ADR for Crystal Palace at 4PM. I really want to do a family photo and I was wondering if they start doing photos right at 7PM or a little earlier. I, too would love to see photos from the party if any has any to post. Thanks!

i have never been to disney at xmas time and am planning a quick trip in december. i haven't purchased anything yet so i have lots to do. how do you purchase tickets to MVMCP? i think we will be there around 12/11...should i be buying them now or can i do that when i book the room? also, how can i find out ahead of time if the night i want to go to the party is booked before i reserve a room? TIA!

We are going the first week of Dec too. I read on one of the boards that the reason lodging is so full is that "Pop Warner Football" has thier convention that week. But they also said in previous years they have been mostly busy at WWS with their convention stuff and that the attendence in the park didn't actually refect how full the resorts were. Sure hope that's the case this year!! :flower:

Oh, never thought to ask that...BUMP, I would love to see some pics (the ones that they take and that are free for the party). Thanks!!!

pop warner will be there dec 3 to 10. It is a mad house there. We made a mistake and went the week they were there. That is why we are flying in on the day most are leaving.

This may seem like a strange question but what exactly are the wristbands for the party made of? Are they likely to break and fall off if the kids play with them (paper? card?) or are they made of sterner stuff?? Just curious to see if it is something we can take home intact as a memory. Thanks
