Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

Question from DD: Does the hot cocoa have marshmallows? Can you get it without marshmallows? Thank you.

In researching the MVMCP as this will be my first time, I have discovered what seems like a great marshmallow issue! hehe! Yes there are apparently mini marshmallows available for the cocoa but over the past few years the number of marshmallows allocated per cup of cocoa has apparently been dwindling. Apparently there is some kind of marshmallow shortage in FL during the holiday season and as we all know marshmallows are too expensive to transport across state lines due to tariffs and such. (Ok, that last part was a joke but there have been several discussions about the shrinking number of marshmallows in the cocoa! :) )

So I would assume you could get it sans marshmallows and if you do, can I have yours? :goodvibes

Is the railroad running during the party or just before? We have an ADR at LTT for 5:40. I'd like to hop on the train after dinner and ride to the Main Street Station so we can walk up Main Street. Or is the snow still falling when we leave? (We are three adults so will probably be there until the end).

I am so excited to announce that I will be going to the very first party on Nov. 27 this year!!! I could not be happier - this is my dream vacation. There is so much to read on this thread - I don't know how I will ever get through it all.

Any one ever been to the party on the first night? Anything special happen? Does it snow the whole time or just at certain times because I want to be sure not to miss it.

I am joining you for the 1st night of the Christmas Party! Can't wait!!!

Hubby and I are going to the Magic Kingdom to celebrate our 12th anniversary. We never had a honeymoon so we are very excited. I think I have him talked into going to the Very Merry Christmas Party. We will be going either late November or like December 1st. Could anyone tell me if the Magic Kingdom is WAY, WAY more crowded on the days of the VMCP? Also can you buy tickets for it now or do you have to wait until you get to your resort?

We're attending our first MVMCP, so I can't answer your question about being more crowded.

You could wait until you get there to buy your tickets, but I do know that some nights sell out, so if you know when you want to go, I would buy the tickets now.

Go to the first post on this thread. It has more information along with the phone number you need to call.

Good luck and have a great time! :)

I ordered (I thought) tickets for me, DS & DD for 12/20 a few weeks ago and they came in the mail. I didn't bother to open the envelope until this morning when I was booking our room at POFQ. Got the room booked! Woo Hoo!!!

Then opened the envelope and DORKY me forgot to get 2 adult tickets...I bought 1 adult and 1 child!!! Can you say ACK!!! I quickly went back and ordered 1 more adult ticket...Now I am just waiting for the confirm email....

ACK!!!!!! I hope they didn't sell out!!! :earseek:

I'm thinking of going Dec 1st. Thursday. I already have a ADR for Chef Mickeys at 5:30. Should I keep it and than come back into the park? I would at least escape the crowds leaving at 6:30. I should say we've never been before. What time does it run until? My kids are young. Thanks

We are going to MVMCP on the 18th.
Do you think that MK will be exceptionally busy during the days that they have MVMCP?
I'm trying to make lunch reservations for that day, and don't know whether I should make them at MK (which would be easier since we'll be there for the evening), or avoid that park during the day.
Would love any input!
Thanks!

We are going to our first MVMCP on 12-20! Will it be really crowded because its the last?

I am going to Disney December 7th thru 14th with my 84 year old mother who is quite frail, uses her own wheelchair and has multiple medical problems. I took her to Disney and MVMCP last Thanksgiving and she loved it. So for our return trip, I purchased tickets to the party. Unfortunately, it turned out that the only night that the visiting nurse folks could come do her infusion treatment at the hotel was the night of the party (Friday Dec 9th). I contacted ticketing and they were very helpful. :cheer2: They asked me to send the original tickets back, and said that they will reissue them for Sunday Dec. 11th and mail the new tickets back. So I sent them off yesterday. I thought that people might want to be aware that it was possible to change tickets in the event of an unforeseen conflict.

They will start letting party goers in after 4:00p. They started doing that about 3 years ago, after 9/11 because of the security tables in place. It makes it easier for them rather than having everyone enter right at 7:00p.

Also all the sit-down restaurants are open but only LTT is open past 6:00p. It's open during the party. The other restaurants will take PS up until 6:00p. You can eat at LTT, The Castle, Crystal palace and Tony's. You can get a PS anywere between 4:00p and 6:00p to be done before the party starts.

If you do not eat at a restaurant and are in the park between 6:00p and 7:00p, they will make you hang out in Tomorrowland while they clear out the park of non-party goers.

Hope this helps.
So DH & I will be able to get in at 4:00 pm with our MVMCP tickets and we can walk around and ride rides? Then will we have to go to Tomorrowland between 6:00-7:00? Or can you only go in before 7:00pm if you are going to be eating at a restaurant?

No, it doesn't matter whether you have an ADR/PS at a restaurant. They let people in after 4:00p regardless. You can ride rides.

But given that some of the otehr regularly scheduled activities are not held at MK on party days (Spectromagic, Wishes, etc.) I would hazard a guess that the park is not hugely crowded. We will certainly not be going that morning (we're going hotel hopping instead).

We are going on 12/01 with my DD6. This will be her third MVMCP. We are flying down early in the morning and plan on spending the afternoon relaxing at the Pop Century. Hopefully we can get a little nap time in so that my DD is rested. In the past we haven't had time for a nap, but I can say if you can do it!

The party officially is from 7PM until 12PM, my DD has never made it to 12PM. There is an early parade and a later one at 10:30PM. Last year we were busy on the rides and missed the first one and needless to say DD slept thru the later one in my arms. Also the fireworks are earlier about 9PM they shoot them off from the castle, we watched from in front of the Mark Twain boat, excellent view.

This year we have PS at the Liberty Tree Tavern and plan to arrive at the park after 4PM. Our reservations are for 5:30 so if we can get a few rides that we really want to do before the party starts we will have a more relaxed evening.

Be sure and purchase your MVMCP pin as soon as you arrive, we waited last year and they were all sold out by 11PM. There is a family portrait "free" be sure and do it before the kids get too tired and the lines are long. Also enjoy the free holiday cookies and hot chocolate.

Every year we have worn our holiday sweaters to the party, it is fun to see everyone in their holiday finest.

Hope this answers some of your questions. Have fun and Happy Holidays!

I wondered the same thing. We have tickets for the 18th and we were thinking of going to MK on the 20th for maybe half the day and then hopping to another park.

:pug: We will be at our first :) MVMCP on Tues., Nov. 29. This is our third trip to WDW, but our first during the holiday season. This day will also be my DH's 40th :earseek: birthday. I want to have a birthday dinner and cake, but I am afraid we won't be able to do and see everything. Any suggestions?
