Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

What kind of cool stuff have you past MVMCP goers seen the night of the party?? I'd love to see some pictures if anyone can post.

It's our first trip to WDW. We are from Northern Ca, Dland APs, but making this a biggie vacation 1 week WDW, Xmas cuise on the Magic, then NYE + 2 days back at WDW.

I'm happy to have found this thread, but have alot of catch up reading to do to get current.

Glad to join you all, we'll be partying on 12/20.

Can someone help answer my questions:

Is it true that AP holders have to get their tickets at will call, because when I made my dining arrangement I told her I was an AP holder and wanted to order tickets. Well I did get the discount and she mailed me the 5 tickets for the $3 fee. Did this happen to anyone else or did I luck out so to speak.

I was told to get our tickets at will call and we have APs. I had a vision of a looonnngg line of people picking up their tickets the night of the party so I picked them up during our last trip in September. I would pick up the tickets prior to the party if possible. The line at "guest relations" was long the day I picked my tickets up and I can imagine how long it would be on an AP party day.

Also, this is our first MVMCP too! I would also like to hear more about the merchandise they offer during the party! :teeth:

I picked up our MVMCP tickets in June when I was there...at the window at the TTC. No one in line at all. I just heard from someone that she was told she can just pick them up at her resort when she arrives.

Is the MVMCP the same attendance level as the MNSSHP?
We went to NoJ, thinking it wuld not be crowded- boy were we wrong!
I am hoping the MVMCP is a limited ticket event!

Yeah, NOJ was packed. MVMCP was no where near that when we went 3 years ago. So, they must sell less tickets for them!

We went last year on Thurs. Dec. 9 and Sun. Dec 12. Although neither night was sold out before we left for the trip, we heard that both nights had sold out on the day of, as so many people were buying tickets at City Hall prior to the parties. I thought both nights were very crowded, at least more so than I was led to believe they would be from these boards. However, there is no comparison between the 20,000 people I saw those nights and the 90,000 that are there on NYE. I suppose in previous years it wasn't so packed, and maybe those hurricanes last summer contributed to the rescheduling of a lot of vacations. Either everyone has caught on to a good thing and this year will sell out night after night, or we'll all catch a break.

In any event, we're going for three nights this year just in case. I'd rather be crunched amongst 20,000 people in MK than 200 on a subway.

I was told last year by a CM that they sell 2000 tickets to each party. I have to believe that this is a pretty accurate number since we have not had to wait for rides. Most of the time we just walked up and were fairly close to getting on the rides. The biggest crowds seem to be at the parades and fireworks.

Good to hear, I have been trying to figure out that crowd thing myself since our best option is a Friday which conventional wisdom has is the most crowded, sell-out etc...figuring they sell 20,000 (figure the 2k is a typo per post below) an old Birnbaum I have says 20K is semi-private or words to that effect with 30-40K moderately busy (see post below with that figure being typical).

I had been having a problem reconciling this with reports of extreme crowding (see another post below). I know its very much an individual perspective but I'm beginning to suspect that those who think its crowded are where everyone else is and if I follow my usual strategy of being where they aren't it won't be too bad.

Only thing is - what are the traffic patterns for a MVMCP??????

Greg

The daily average attendance for MK is about 40K, but they are not all there at the same time. 20K is comfortable, and in my experience many rides at MVMCP are walkons for much of the time. If you are on Main Street at parade time, or in front of the castle during Wishes, then of course it's crowded! Or if you go on a Friday night, it may be more crowded in the sense of sold out, whereas other nights may not be sold out.

I ordered my MVMCP tickets online with a SP discount and they were mailed to me.

Just got my tickets today for MVMCP on Dec 8. I had the option of picking them up at the park when we arrived or pay $3.00 to have them mailed. I also pictured a huge line to pick up tickets so obviously I opted to have them mailed. No time to mess around and wait in lines their is fun to have and magic to make!!!

what is the web address to order online and how much is the passholder discount and what dates
thanks

We will be going from dec 19~26, so we would have to attend on the 20th. With it being the last one for the season, is it normally Packed??

Oooohhh, great link. :flower: Thanks for posting. Does anyone have a pic of 12/11's pin. The image was not available for that date. TIA :wave2:

We have gone to MVMCP 2x and neither time was over crowded, but did
decide last minute to eat a sit down meal which was a big mistake, we
took up 1/2 the night waiting and eating. missed alot. do your family
picture early before that gets crowded. loved it and have my tickets for
dec. 1. have a great time ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo

What day do you think will be the least crowded 12/1 or 12/4? :confused3

I have never been on a Sunday, but my guess would be 12/1 would be less
crowded since it is a Thursday and I would just think that weekdays are less
crowded then weekends. If you go into MK during the day just go up to the
front of the park and they will give you a bracelet and that will allow you to stay in the park in between the hours it should close and when it would reopen for the MVMCP. Best bet is to probably eat in that hour before all
the festivities start or ride your favorite ride because the park will empty out.

Have fun ::MickeyMo
