Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

Hmmmmm, 11/29 and 12/20 seem to be popular days. Anyone think 11/29 will be very crowded or is it just because the Disers are so smark to pick that date??? ;)

We will be there on the 11/27th also but I thought Sunday would be a bit more crowded.

I was wondering about 11/29 being overly crowded too, but that's the day we really want to go. Our other choice would be 12/1, but I'm kinda hoping we'll have so much fun 11/29 that DH will agree to 12/1 after we're there.. :p ..

Yeah, let's just do it and forget it!!! Hope we both have a great time that night!

It looks like a lot for 11/29 but in reality that is only 21 Dis members so it isn't that bad. It always just looks busy because we are all posting :)

I'm sure we'll be there, DH was on the phone early to make our PS/ADR for LTT....we're eating at 5:05 and I think he was more excited to make the PS than I was! He's home during the day right now, so he'll be making our ADRs, and he kept asking...."Do I call for MVMCP today? Are the tickets out yet?" It's so much fun to watch him, last year he wasn't into the planning at all, but we all had a great trip, which led to this year's trip!

I am hoping to get to the 12/1 MVMCP as well, it will probably depend on how 11/29 goes and if we have $$$ left over...

See you there!

Got my tickets today... :jumping1: Our first Christmas trip. How to pass the time until..... :hourglass

Hi Guys ...

Am fairly new to this board and have been trying to get through this thread. Great posts. THANKS!

Have a couple of questions ....have been to WDW the last three years but have not been during Christmas season since 1988. Really want to schedule our trip from 12/5-12/11 with our dd6 and dd3. Is the popwarner attendance enough to keep us away? We are about to book at POFQ. Also, we had wanted to try to do MVMCP one night with a possible PS at LTT. Is this event a good fit for our kids (if we rest during the afternoon) AND do you think we can still get PS at LTT?

THANKS MUCH
Amy

(1) Pop Warner has little if any effect on park attendance, this is a great time to go! It may possibly affect your resort stay -- I don't know if they typically stay at POFQ. But I don't think you should stay away for that reason.

(2) It depends a lot on your kids. If you can get them to take a good nap, they will probably last long enough to make it worthwhile. As long as you're prepared to leave whenever they need to, go ahead and give it a shot.

(3) You can definitely still get LTT reservations, though some time slots are filled. It is likely that additional reservations will open up at 90 days.

The Pop Warners are enough to keep me away. While I didn't notice them in the parks at all, we were at Port Orleans Riverside and we did notice them there. The pools were packed, especially at night and VERY late at night. And the bus stops were packed as well.

MVMCP is a great even for the kids. We went when my daughter was 2.5 and she loved it......the snow, the parade, the cookies, etc.

Am wanting to book tickets for 18th December for MVMCP and would like someones advice on costs for eating at Tonys. Weve been to LTT before but im not sure if there will be many spaces left judging by this thread!
Also, do I ring ticket reservations and book - and will they send them to the UK?
If we do not eat before entering for the party, what time do we get herded out/away and then return at 7pm? Will there be eating places open once the party gets under way? And if there are, do you suggest pre-booking seating?
Hope this makes sense - am all excited at the thought of going to a party - its been a while!!??!! :flower:

I do not know the cost of eating at Tony's but it's a buffet and probably cheaper than LTT because there are no characters.

LTT books up fast, and within a month or so, they'll be hardly anything left.

LTT and Tony's are the only restaurants taking PS now and that are open through 9:30p. The rest of the sit down restaurants will be able to be booked at 90 days and only taking PS up until 6:00p, when the park closes.

You will be asked to go to Tomorrowland at 6:00p till 7:00p if you are not eating in a restaurant. The rides and Cosmic Rays will be open for that hour.

Once the party starts, only LTT and Tony's will be open and various counter services throughout the park.

If you want to eat in one of the sit-down restaurants, you definitely should get a PS because all the restaurants will fill up.

Tony's Town square is a buffet? I thought it was a regular sit down restaurant.
Anyway it will be great! We're going on Thursday Dec 8th. Tony's then the party!!!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Normally, it is a regular sit down restaurant but for the parties they say it is a buffet. I believe it mentions it on the letter you get with your tickets as well.

Thanks for that quick reply - im so glad im still online - wouldnt want another 52 pages to go by before I checked!! Its a heck of a lot of reading!!!

Pop Warner doesn't affect the parks but do affect the value resorts if you are staying there where they are. We were right in the thick of it last year at ASSports with them and it was chaos at the pool and foodcourt. These are two areas we avoided like the plague because it was very very busy.

Other than that it was ok, we were lucky enough to not have our room close to the rooms they were staying it.

They stay mostly in the values and overflow very little to the moderates. FQ isn't one that I hear they overflow to.

For those of you who bought your MVMCP tickets at the AP rate, you can pick them up anytime! We just got back from WDW last night, and I went to Guest Relations at MK on Sunday and picked up our tickets. She needed my confirmation # and my ID. I asked if she needed to see my AP, and she said, "No, that's fine." :confused3 Our tickets are paper and have "Happiest Celebration on Earth" written on the top, and a picture of one of the 4 newest attractions on each one. 7 months to go...tick tock... :)

Is anyone planning on doing both or just park hopping over instead?

Not only are we doing MK and MVMCP on the same day, but I'm hoping for CRT that morning and we're doing LTT for dinner. That being said, we're not planning a late night at MVMCP. If we last long enough to see the fireworks, we'll be happy.

Ok, now I'm a little confused. You mentioned that your tickets were paper. Do they have different forms of media for the tickets? Mine came in about a week ago and they were semi-rigid plastic. Do they issue ticket to MVMCP on both paper and the plastic? Or is mine a voucher? It doesn't say anything about having to redeem it?

My tickets are plastic also, have been for the past three years. The paper seems new to me, but yours are definitely tickets, not vouchers.

I think if you pick the tickets up at Guest Services, they'll use whatever ticket stock they have. Right now, that just happens to be the paper ones that Liznboys described.
