MEET THE CAST

Me and the mouse last April at Donalds Breakfast (just for the record I personally would never suggest eating at this character meal).

You look familar, like someone I went to high school with or something, and I just can't place it. And if I can ask, why not eat at Donald's, I have an ADR there in Dec, and keep on reading either really positive, or really negative reviews, and that was a last minute addition, and by last minute, I mean I didn't make it on my 180-day mark. To me, 179 days away making ADR's is last minute.

Sorry I didn't get to your pre-trip sooner. Oh, I almost forgot my question, is your grandmother still living? Sounds like you will have a great trip. I wish I could fit Universal in my trip.

My grandmother is still alive and now lives in southern NJ. :)

I'm not sure where I would know you from, but I'm from NJ if that's any help. I grew up in central and now live in Bergen County. As for Donalds we really didn't enjoy it the last time we went last spring. We waited an hour an 15 minutes before a character came over to us and we didn't enjoy the food. However we were the last ADR of the day so by that time the food had been out for a long time. The characters weren't really fun either, they only stood and took pictures. I hope you have a better experience though!

Well, 23 days out and we are basically completely set at this point. We're all booked up. For the extra night we have available we decided to make an ADR for Raglan Road. I've heard great reviews of the place and am really interested to see how it turns out.

As for life before the trip it's been pretty hectic. I finally made a packing list and of course have way too much according to Jay, in fact his exact words were that I'm a lunatic, but comeeee how doesn't he understand that I absolutely positively need to bring 5 pairs of high heels. Why, he demands must you have 5 pairs of high heels in DISNEY WORLD...and of course my response is, honey, you never know. Men! I've also made a packing list for him for this trip. Every trip we've ever taken I start packing and have everything finished by at least two days before the trip. My darling procrasinator on the other hand is running around the house the night before picking up clothing on his side of the bed that's been on the floor asking me if it's clean enough to bring. I of course tell him no and then he's doing loads of laundry all night, gets about an hour of sleep and is cranky the whole next day. The last time we flew he had his blanket out and was fast asleep before most of the passengers boarded the plane. :rotfl: Then when we get our destination he realizes he does not have anything that matches or anything to wear when we go out to dinner. This year, I'm saying no. So, I'll most likely be doing most of his packing as well. It'll be interesting how I'm going to squeeze this in between taking mid terms, handing all of my work in/taking exams early, and working. Eeeeek. :surfweb:

Gosh, and I thought I had a busy pre-Disney week last week!! I kept reminding DH what to bring and I'm the one that forgot allergy meds. Here's hoping all your planning pays off and no one forgets anything. :earsgirl:

It's times like this when I'm glad I go solo, and I don't have to worry about men, and the way they pack and/or think. ;)

sounds like you are going to have a busy trip! I have never tried Universal, i just cant bring myself to go. I cant wait to hear all about it!

Thanks for all of your replies. It's going to be a very hectic few weeks, but I'm confident I can get it all done if I just keep my mind on the prize party. As for reporting about Universal I'll make sure to give you a full report then. We go everytime we go to Orlando but I've always been used to going there because my grandmothers condo was directly across the street from them. They definately do not have the disney magic but it's fun there, it's a good way to start a trip IMHO!

This weekend I woke up Jay early. Our conversation went something like this.

Me: "Morning, honey.....Honey? Honey, good morning (a little more forcefully)".
Jay: groan, rolls over
Me: "Honey, it's time to wake up"
Jay: more moaning, proceeds to put pillow over his head
Me: "Honey, I want to go shopping today for Disney"
Jay: rolls over instantly looks me in the eye, "absolutely not".
Me: "but honey we really need to get a new camera, and I wanted to get those shoes I told you about, the crocs, remember? And we need to get band aids, and mole skin,...etc etc etc.
Jay: more groaning, finally "why do you love to spend money? I mean it it's like you have a hemorrage (makes exagerated expression) here! take my money! i have some please take it!"

Well, after about two hours of going back and forth with the idea I finally got him out the door, grumbly and all, and it wasn't until we got to Best Buy and I threatened to get the most expensive camera that he finally got out of the car. Score! :cool1:

We ended up getting an Olympus fe-190 which was $199 and perfect for us. Very nice, but not too nice. Our last camera we left outside and in the rain for three days before we noticed it was missing. It took us another week to find it. Needless to say, we'll never be $1000 camera people! We also ended up buying a more expensive memory card for $100 but it stores 1,300 pictures and an hour of video which is great because like many before (think, "don't mind the blurry pictures") I will end up taking that many pictures in 10 days and I'll have all of them posted for you in a couple of weeks popcorn::

We didn't end up getting the crocs and other things yet, but I'll sucker him in this upcoming weekend. Or maybe tomorrow. I have to get a root canal on Halloween! He'll definately feel badly for me, so maybe I'll just hint.... :rolleyes1

Off to class: up next: our packing extraveganza!

This upcoming trip: November 9th-19th.

Originally the plan was to stay at Royal Pacific Resort these first two nights? Why you ask? Well it's only the first two nights, and free cut the lines baby! Plus...have you SEEN the pics of this resort? Wowzers! However, we waited too long to book and by the time we were ready the hotel was sold out! :confused3 Buttt, I'm still psyched for ASSp

hey!-we stayed at royal Pacific this past summer after 9 nights at Disney and it was the worst hotel stay we have ever had. For the amount we were paying I couldn't belive the AWFUL service. Hair in the bed, dirty cups, dirty sheets, no reponse from housekeeping....this is to let you know-don't be sad...mayabe it is a blessing in Disguise!! Have fun!!!

...this has been the never ending night...

After a day filled with classes I picked Jeremy up at the train station and off we headed to the mall because we were both in dire need of a hair cut. After all, we have pictures to take people! :teeth:

Now for those of you who have thick hair, you can understand me. In order to straighten my hair it takes a long time with a combination of hair dryers, different brushes and lastly the heavenly flat iron. So after two hours we left the hair salon all sparkling clean and perty!

After leaving the salon we had to drive to my job because I had to pick up a check that is for some much needed souvenier money.

Finally, at 10PM we returned home and it was time to pack. I know what most of you are thinking....why on earth did you wait till the last minute to pack?!!? :confused3 Well everytime I say I learn my lesson, but really, I'm a procrasinator at heart and never do. We finally just stopped packing and still have a bunch to do tomorrow morning and it's 1AM.

Tomorrow I have work and classes and Jay has work but at 5pm I pick him up at at 8:05 we'll be flying to Orlando baby!!!!! pixiedust:

I hope you're having a wonderful time in WDW! I'm looking forward to reading your TR when you get back!
