Mickey's Sorcerers hat - to go!!!!!

Just read the sad news - after all of the many long time rumours....that this DHS icon is to finally be removed in early 2015

The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow also closing.

Looks like we have got a lot of construction to look forward to in the near future.
I hope we get an extra track on TSM

many including myself are happy about it.
i've not been a fan of it ever since it was put there.
sure its cute but it should never have taken over as the park's icon.
the earful tower is the rightful icon.
besides it detracts from the great movie ride.

Reading the article, it seems that there could have been issues with the previous original theatre owners at that time, wanting payments for photographs being taken of the replica theatre and the hat was there to partially block it????
Personally, I always relate the earful tower with Disney MGM studios....but saying that, I sometimes still refer to the park as MGM
I do think the tower needs to be relocated in a more prominent position within the park, just as the other 3 parks icons are.

I'm among those who knew MGM and who loved the studios without that hat.
I'll be so glad when it finally goes.

I have always liked the hat but not bothered its being taken down. I also think that the Earful Tower needs to be re-positioned to a more prominent place.

Reminds me just how much Space ship Earth was when the Year 2000 sign was taken off. Much better.

I always thought the park was already too small, and having that there ruined the main avenue down to the Chinese theatre.

Another who won't miss this monstrosity. Be nice to see clear up the street to the Chinese Theatre again....unless they replace it with some other obstacle of course.

I'll be glad that we will be able to see the theatre in all it's glory again. I hope they do relocate the hat somewhere else as I actually like it.

Never seen HS without it though so it will be interesting to see next trip, just hope there's not too much construction work going on.

i hate how it blocks the view as you come into the park...blech blech blech..
the park looked so much better before they put that thing in there...

And me, and me! Glad it's going. Now if only they would bring back the fireworks behind the theatre at the end of the evening ..... when a giant Sorcer Mickey would rise up at the end ..... I much preferred that to Fantasmic, but realise I would be in the minority with that
