We are going the last week in October, BEFORE Halloween. Will they still have trick or treating for the kids the week before? HOW does this work & what is the weather usually like that last week in October? :wizard:

They have trick or treating at all MNSSHP events. You just walk up, hold out your bag, and you get candy! It isn't just for kids either, adults can as well! They also hand out bags for you to use. As for weather, the end of October is usually great, some rain on occasion. This past year we had a hurricane towards the end of October, but that was pretty rare. Have a great time! :sunny:

They should do this all year. Free Candy!!!!

We were there the Tuesday before Halloween last year and it was very cool out. The storm from Wilma had blown through a few days before. We wore our jackets in the evening.

We went on Halloween in 2003. We wore shorts in the evening.

Both times were a blast!

We went to MNSSHP last year before Halloween and I promise you that you will get more candy than you will EVER be able to eat. They loaded us up! It kinda made the actual Halloween anticlimactic though.

Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween party is held several nights in October. It's a hard ticket event that is held after the park closes. You pay extra for it.

Each party has all the same activities, the parade, fireworks, trick or treating etc...

The weather is usually GREAT! Still warm but not like the summer months. I love going the last week in October!

How are crowds the week before Halloween? I'm trying to decide on Oct 21st or Sept 23. Would like to book today!

It's at the Magic Kingdom. It's called the not so scary halloween party. They close that park early and then re-open it for the party ticket holders only. Tickets were 20 something apiece last time we went. They say they only sell a limited amount of tickets, but it was at least twice as crowded during the party as the 2 other days we attended that park. waited in lines up to 15 minutes to get a piece of candy. Since there were 11 of us and we spent a couple of hundred dollars on it, it wasn't worth it for us. But the decorations, and the way the castle lit up and stuff was quite a sight to see.

It's a pretty managable week. Not too crowded at all, IMHO.

been in 2002, 2003 and 2005. loved it.forget the rides (except the haunted mansion) and enjoy the candy, parade, storytellers, fireworks...

enjoy

Does anyone remember when Disney usually releases the dates for the halloween parties? I'm really hoping for one on Oct.6 (the Friday before our Magical cruise!). TIA

Unofficial dates were circulating around Disney boards by mid-April and Disney officially released the actual dates and tickets on April 30 last year.

What kind of candy? There must be a sponsor involved here.

Last year it was Nestle chocolate like Crunch, Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, etc., tootsie pops, tootsie rolls, smarties, sweet tarts, nerds, M & M's, now and later and many others I can't remember.

Went to this a couple of years ago. The park was less crowded than usual, but there are still some waits at certain rides. We went to toon town and were able to ride some rides a couple of times in a row with no wait. It was so much fun seeing all of the children dressed up like their favorite disney character. The weather was warm at night and somewhat hot during the day. (It was mid-October when we went.) Recommend buying the ticket for the the "Halloween Party".

Went last year the week before Halloween. We didn't have any kids with us (4 adults) but still had a really good time. For me, the best part was not having to wait in line for any rides! There were absolutely no lines for anything! (One of the cast members got a big chuckle off of me, though, when I asked "What's the average waiting time for the rides?" He answered, "None.") I must have gone on Space Mountain 6 or seven times.

The parade is really fun, too. They have the Winnie the Pooh characters dressed in Halloween costumes (Eeyore was a bedraggled mummy - sooooo cute). It's a different parade than they have during the "regular" MK hours, I think - specific to Halloween.

We did get a little candy, but didn't focus on that. It was the day after Hurricane Wilma went through - we were just happy it wasn't pouring down rain!
