In the past do DVC members get discounted tickets at all on Mickeys not so scary Halloween exhibit? We will be there end of sept when it's going on. With that being said, is it worth it?

Yes, there is a small DVC discount but I don't recall what it is exactly (they're not GIVING tickets away though if you know what I mean!)
Your mileage may vary, but our family goes to WDW at this time every year JUST to catch an MNSSHParty. We treat it as an extra park ticket and go for the fully allotted time (with a ticket you can enter at 4 pm even though officially, the party starts at 7 pm). It has become a Fall tradition - which makes me realize how spoiled my kids are if this is a MUST do most years!
It is an expensive way to add more time at MK but supposedly it is because you are experiencing an 'exclusive' event. Exclusive is in quotations because of our Not So Happy experience at the Disneyland version of the party last year, but that is for another thread!
We have always enjoyed lower crowds, interesting entertainment and lots of opportunities for rides and candy at WDW. I do have to say that that it has become more enjoyable now that my kids are older - the later it gets, the less people there are!. If we had to leave early because our kids couldn't take the late hours, the ticket price wouldn't seem as valuable to us.

DVCNews has a front page article about MNSSHP and discounts offered to DVC members. Click here to jump to the article.

We really enjoy MNSSHP. We've been to three parties in the last four years and would gladly go back again if it was being offered while we were there.

Purchased tickets on-line for October. If you intend to do it on-line you should sign into MDE first so that the site recognizes you as a DVC member or an AP holder (the DVC and AP discount are the same). You will find the ticket sale page by going to "Park & Tickets" pull down tab and choose Special Events Tickets and one of the choices will be the Halloween Party. you will be able to choose a DVC price if you are already signed in as a DVC memeber to MDE. The discount is $4 off regular price in Sep and $3 in Oct.

Yes, it is worth it. There are rides open with smaller lines and you have the trick or treat lines where the kids can get treats but we find those to be mediocre at best. The best part is the shows/bands/dancing in Tomorrowland, Main Stage at the castle, and inside Diamond Horseshoe, and the Halloween "decorations" most of which are added by lights to places like Main street and the castle. Also, large numbers of the crowd come in costume which is always fun to see.

Can I purchase discounted tickets for my sister and her family if I am not going or do I have to go?

Some dates dont get a discount. The last week of October does not come up as available when I had DVC discount in. I had to change it to non discount and then they showed up.

It was my understanding you needed to call member services for the tickets with DVC discount. You can ask them whether they could go without you.
