Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween?

Thank you for the reply! I think it is crazy to pay that on top of what you already have to pay for your trip so they can trick or treat. That would be an extra $200.00. We will take a pass on this.

It's actually quite a good party. You get a treat bag as you enter and there are stations set up to get candy around the park. There is a special parade and fireworks. The characters are dressed up in Halloween Costumes. The best part is that since there are limited admissions most of the rides are walkons. We've been every year for the past 5 years and really enjoy it.

I totally agree with you...............with that being said I caved and bought tickets for ds6 and I. Dh wont be joining us until the 9th. If I had to pay for all five of us though I wouldn't be going

We went last year on Oct 31st and it was pretty cool. Hallowishes fireworks are amazing! They last about half an hour; think Wishes meets Epcot fireworks but with a villains theme. One of the best WDW things ever!

There's a special Halloween parade, villains meet n greet, dance parties with the characters in cotume, special photo ops (Snow White & all the dwarfs! Cinderella's carriage), most rides are open with no lines + trick-or-treating. Was it worth an extra $200? Not sure but we really, really enjoyed it.

I had promised my kids we'd do this Halloween on Halloween since that is what we planned this trip around. I did not know the price of tickets when I promised though. So I had to bite the bullet and by the premium priced tickets for all 6 of us! It's paid for now, and we are all looking forward to it.

We are heading down too. It looks good and since we will never be back down there at Halloween again, we are taking part. It's pricey but I hey what's another couple hundred? Just add it to the list!!

If you love Disney - you'd probably love this! MK is done up halloween style, as PP's mentioned the fireworks are amazing, and one of my favourite things about the night is the Villian Parade....it was superb! It officially starts at 7pm, but they allow people with tickets in anytime after 4pm and it lasts till midnight....

DH and I are heading to The World to celebrate our tenth wedding annversary in October, and I just bought tickets the the halloween party moments ago banana!

We have tickets for Tuesday, October 6 - the kids are VERY excited!! We figured it was worth the $$ as we were planning on doing 2 days at Disney only this trip (we're not staying at Disney... THIS time!!) - so it's actually cheaper to go to the party then to pay regular admission for the day! The Disney operator I spoke with when I ordered the tickets back in May indicated that they'd let us in starting at 4:00 - so we figure we'll feed the kids an early supper, go to Disney around 5:00, the party starts at 7:00 - and we'll (hopefully) leave by 10:00 - we're with another family - so between the two families we'll have a 7 year old, 6 year old, two 4 year olds and a 7 month old... so not sure how long we'll last!!

We are going Oct 6th as well. We won't be too hard to miss as we'll have my Mom in a scooter, my DH, my brother, my SIL and 5 kids - 9, 7, 5, 3 and 14 weeks. The oldest 4 will be dressed as pirates as they are doing the pirate league earlier in the day.

We're doing this Sep 22..about the only special event I haven't seen-done at Disney so I am looking forward to it!!! THen we slip right into Food & Wine ..can't wait!!

We just got back and we went to the Halloween party on Friday. It was a lot of fun. The rides were almost empty, the parade and fireworks were the best I have seen at WDW and are a must see. The villain show was good but short. The only complaint I had was there was too much to do. Some of the lines for the character meets were crazy long. Hard to justify spending that kind of time in a line when you only have 5 hours. The best part was the Haunted Mansion. They really did a great job on it.

What are we supposed to do with all the booty we collect? Is their lots? Will I need to carry a backpack to empty full bags into? Due to the time difference we will be there right until the end of it. Any booty suggestions would be greatly appreciated

There can be lots of booty to collect. Depends how many times you go through the candy lines. We've usually taken an extra bag to empty out the small bag that they give you or just get another small treat bag.

We were actually kind of disappointed with the booty. It was very inconsistent. One person would give you 2 pieces and another would dump 2 handfuls into the bag. They were also inconsistent between adults and children giving them much more the me. It all depended on the cast member.

They also seemed to run out. We decided to go along the path from toontown to future world and 3 out of the 4 stations back there had no booty. In their defense it was late in the night(11:30 ish).

My suggestions for getting lots of booty:

• Start Early - don't wait until near the end of night thinking they will be trying to empty their bins. Their bins might be empty by the time you get there.
• Empty half full bags into your napsack - I saw some cast members catching kids up that had little in their bags
• If you find a cast member giving out handfuls go back to that person multiple times

I found some interesting candy's in the booty I have never seen or tasted before. Some were awful.

We went this past Friday night and it was fantastic!!!!

Even though the park seemed really busy the rides were ALL a walk on. The fireworks were awesome. I had heard that Hallowishes is the best that they offer and I would agree. The parade was fun and different than the other parades. We went to the 10:30 parade and walked up to the route at 10:25 and got a spot. Funny, friends of ours were standing right beside us and we didn't notice them for several minutes. We were not traveling together but I had a weird feeling we would run into each other somewhere. We filled our little bags with candy and never went through a spot more than once. They hand out a fair bit at each spot and as the evening goes on they give out more to get rid of it.

We didn't get any of the photos with the carriage or the dwarfs. Only because I forgot about them and by the time we got around to those areas the lines were way longer than I was willing to wait for. You have to do those photos first thing at 7pm.

I'm not sure that I would say it was 'worth' the cost of the tickets but the party nights are very different than a regular day/night at MK. I will say that since you can enter the park at 4pm with your party ticket it is fair bang for the buck. It worked really well for our plans because we stayed for 9 days and only spent 2 days in the parks so MNSSHP was our only time in MK.

The Dwarfs are near the entrance to Toontown. It's kind of across from Pooh in Fantasyland.

The carriage is between IASW and the pathway to Liberty Square.

If you want to do these things I would advise you to line up for the Dwarfs at about 6:45pm and then go straight over to the carriage. I knew this in advance and forgot about it. We started our night with dinner at CP and then started through Adventureland. So when we got around to the HM and saw the PP photog's I remembered. We did the HM and then walked through to Fantasyland at that time it was about 7:20 and the line at the carriage was really long so we passed and thought about coming back later. We carried on and did a few things in Fantasyland by the time we got to the Dwarfs it was about 8pm and the line was ENORMOUS. My guess was that the wait was an least 1 hour.
