So I am thinking of taking my 2 boys(7) down in Sept.
We have been many times. Was trying to make this an inexpensive trip for a few days. I do not have any park passes- I could buy one day for $82 and go to MK. Or we could do the MNSSHP. We did the pirate and princess party a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Anyone have pros cons to it?
Also thought about going to Vero. But would september be a good time?
Then then I would have to drive there, instead of magical express. Advice?

The MNSSHP is lots of fun, and I think you and your DSs would really enjoy it. It seems that September is a time when hurricanes often strike, so that's a consideration, but I have a week + vacations, WDW and a cruise planned for September so we just hope for pixie dust!:wizard:

MNSSHP is a great choice for you and your two boys. You usually can get into the park around 4:00 PM even though the party doesn't start until 7:00. You can also wait to purchase the tickets a few days before the day to check out the weather. But you might not be able to get DVC discounted tickets as they have a limited number.

September would a be nice time at the beach if no hurricane is in the forecast. And who knows about that when we make our reservations? I'd vote for MNSSHP. The weather will still be warm enough for pool time too.

Oh yes- I forgot that you could get in a little early.
I think that would be the best option for us.

i love the holloween party if you like to do rides and not wait they are much shorter

MNSSHP is a great option full of neat surprises for Halloween! We went for the first time last year and used our tickets that day to get into MK early.

I took my daughter, who was 7 at the time, to both parties and the Halloween party is even more fun than the Pirates and Princesses was. The set up is similar. You can enter as early as 4 PM in order to do the rides that will not be open for the party. They give you a bag for trick or treating. At 7PM, they close the park, and everyone who is not going to the party (like P&P you get a wrist band for Halloween party) is pretty much out by 7:30. They have similar stations to P&P where you trick and treat (and adults also can fill a bag). There are two parades. The floats are Halloween themed, but they are not as elaborate as P&P. The scariest part is probably the start of the parade in which the headless horseman rides. The best part, as you know, is with attendance restricted you can just sit down just about anywhere for the parade and get on the operating rides with little or no wait. They are very generous with the treats. We brought enough back that my daughter shared it with her entire 2nd grade class.

We visit the event every year, I highly recommend it and you can make dinner reservations at the Crystal Palace at 5pm and they will let you in early for it. The park is much less busy that night and we've often stayed past midnight. if you have a regular park ticket you must leave the park at 7pm even if you are staying a resort so that clears a lot of people out. A lot of people wear costumes and they give you a small gift bag and hand out candy throughout the Magic Kingdom.

As for September, it will still be plenty hot. It does get rainy but we've been having some mild years as far as hurricanes go. I would say that if we don't get any before you go it probably won't happen.

Enjoy!
