Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party~~October 3

We will be at WDW on the 3rd. I have never been to MNSSHP. What's it like? Where do you get tickets? I will have 3 kids under 4 with me. Is it worth it? Will it be too much for the little kids? I'm very curious!

80 days and counting

this will be our first (hmmm could we get lucky and it cool off that night: Not):p

I ordered mine two weeks ago and they arrived last week. I was also told they would arrive in September :)

This is also our first holiday and MNSSHP visit! We're usually there in September, but we'll give the first week in October a try!
I'd like to see some tips and stories from other members who've been there-done that.
This is a surprise trip for my girls.
We're taking them out of school on Wednesday afternoon for a "Doctor Appointment" and then drive on over to the airport!!!!!

I can't Wait!!!! 59 days and counting!

LaurenS....we're kind of in the same boat as you...planning on an Oct. 3rd visit, but worried about crowds. It's me, wife, three kids 14, 10 and 6. After much soul searching, we've decided that it is such a once-in-a-lifetime thing that even the high cost and possibility of big crowds is outweighed.
We were all excited about the possibility of riding so many attractions at night, but we'll play it by ear. If there ARE long lines for rides, then we'll just do everything else!
I understand your husband's hesitation, though. Spending all that money on a Disney trip and then paying an ADDITIONAL 150 bucks or so seems crazy! But the other way to look at it is if you're paying 2, 3, maybe 5-thousand bucks for a Disney vacation, then what difference does 5-thousand-150 dollars make?
Hope to see you there!!!

We'll be there too! I planned a water park day with a late start and long afternoon nap/break to help us rest up. My parents offered to watch the baby, so we'll all have dinner together at 1900 Park Faire, then head off to the party with the older kids. Since we will have already had 2 visits to MK earlier in the week, we'll be able to concentrate on the special stuff!

We (DW, DDs 6 & 8 and myself plus friends) for the oct 5th party. Our first time to the party and the kids first time to DW. Can't wait. Still wondering about dressing up. I have a sweat shirt that the girls painted a honey pot on for HW one year. I think it would be alittle hot for Flordia?

We are traveling with my sister, her husband and their two kids. My husband and I will be attending MNSSHP with our 15 month old as well as both my 9 year old neice and 13 year old nephew (my sister and brother-in-law are having a "parent's night out"). My nephew wasn't too excited at first, but once he found out that he will have some extra time to go on the rides he became much more interested in attending!! I think the olny ones in costume will be my son (as a fighter pilot like his daddy!) and my neice (as a "Pink Lady"). I can't wait! it should be lots of fun!

:earsboy:

DH and I will be attending on the 3rd, and cannot wait! It will be our first holiday at Disney. He will have just returned from a long deployment in Iraq two weeks prior to this trip. No kids either so we'll be honeymooning (sort of...been married almost 10yrs)!!!

We're not dressing in costume. For those of you who want to look festive but not wear a costume, Old Navy usually has some really cute Halloween shirts every year. That's what I'll be wearing. You have to pack so much for this trip as it is without having to pack a costume too!!

Can't wait!!!!!

Do you know when these shirts are available? My DH & I are going alone too and he does not like to dress up. I Have been looking for a t-shirt he would wear but I have not been able to find any yet. Thanks for the info! I have 1 box of stuff ready to pack already!!!

19 days left YAHOO!!!!!:Pinkbounc :smooth:

I'm going Oct 3 too! :p

Since this is the very first day for MNSSHP, do you think it will be more crowded than any others? Is the first MNSSHP usually crowded?

Thanks!

24 days and counting!!!!! Aaarrrgh, Mateys! We be Pirates for the MNSSHP!
My kids still have no clue; although friends keep slipping, I still think they're clueless. We've got 5:30 reservations for the Crystal Palace. I am a little wary about the weather, though. Florida is literally soaking and the rain keeps on comin'. Let's hope the October 3rd opening night will be dry !

Ya know, I'm a little upset at the responses I've been seeing for parents/adults who will be attending, but not in costume.
Gosh, just 'cause you're big doesn't mean you shouldn't dress up.

It's not your workplace, Man; IT'S DISNEY!!!!!!

I just booked a last minute trip to surprise my daughter for her "Sweet 16th" birthday. Her birthday is 10/23 and I plan on putting the MNSSHP tickets in her card. This is our first trip during MNSSHP. She loves Disney and since we were just there in May, she thinks we won't be going back for some time. I bought tix for 10/26 just yesterday and made PS tonight for LTT for 5:15. I was told on that date they were wide open from 5-8:00. I "did" have to give a credit card number and was told I had 48 hrs. prior to cancel or chg'd. a $10/person fee.

I hope 5:15 wasn't too early. I figured they would be behind at least 15 min. or more in seating people with the crowds. I also read that all guests "not" having PS ressies with a MNSSHP Ticket would be leaving the park. Those with MNSSHP tix could re-enter at 7:00. That's why I quickly made PS ressies. I cannot see leaving and then coming back since I plan on being there early afternoon. Not having been there before, I am hoping someone can clarify how they handle this. If we are done with dinner by 6:15 or so, will any rides be operational? Is there anything that generally "does not" open that evening (rides, food, gift shops, etc.)?

P.S. I agree that more "adults" should let there hair down so to speak and enjoy the evening and dress up along with the kids. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate. I know both my daughter and myself will have some sort of costume on.

I wish I had received a super birthday card like that!!! That's Awesome, Mom!

I was told by the reservations operator that since I have MNSSHP tickets, I can go to the Town Hall to show them my MNSSHP passes (since I'll be in the park anyway that day) and they will give me the goodie bags, then I can go enjoy dinner at the restaurant (Crystal Palace) at 5:30. I just plan on hanging out in the restaurant until MNSSHP time. I'll just gauge time by the gossip floating around between cast members. In other words, I'm just gonna fly by the seat of my pants. As long as we're in the park, I'll be happy.

The operator also said that if I weren't in the park that afternoon, I should go up to the gate and give them my MNSSHP passes right before my dinner reservation time and they would let me in.
You know, it's still almost a month away and I'm sure that nothing is set in stone with what the operators are telling people about getting into the park, etc. I'll just visit town hall a day or two before to find out the right way I should do it. Or I'll call the Disney Operators; they should have some sort of protocol to go by by then.

My Old Navy only has out the girls sizes in the Halloween shirts. I would just keep checking though because the adult shirts should be out anytime. I don't remember if they had any for nem or not though but there are always really cute ones for us kids at heart!!

All six of us are dressing up. I hope we will not be the only adults there acting like kids again. My mother is making all the costumes for the kids.
