Does anyone know when the tickets and times come out for MNSSHP? and if you've been before can you tell me a little about it? we are going 10/10-10/22 and are basing our trip around that...I think it will be great fun!

I didn't go myself, but my sister did on the same vacation I was on with her husband and three children. They were gone for about 3 hours and while they had been excited, upbeat, and "oh, we don't care about riding rides! There's going to be SO much else to do!" came limping back into the hotel room with crying, screaming kids, saying it was so packed that they got to waddle from one end of main street to the other and back again and only got to see the back of people's heads, never mind anything special, because of the crowds. I'm sure that there's plenty of people who know the tricks and have a great time though or they wouldn't run it every year, I just know my relatives didn't.

Tickets came out in April of last year.

The party starts at 7pm. Everyone comes in costume. The parade is fun. Check out Allears for more info & photos. We went last October & it was alot of fun but my ds konked out at 10pm!

We have been 4 times and each year it has seemed to become more crowded. We have always gone the first or second night they offer this so Sept 30 or the first week in Oct. when you might think less people would attend. My point: it is crowded. However if you arrive early between 4 and 5:00 you can get your wrist bands as soon as they begin handing them out. Then you can ride the attractions in the area they "hold" everyone in while the day visitors exit. I would also get my group picture done right away if you plan to. The lines get loooooong and you can waste alot of time. There is usual a thread here by summer time that has lots of tips and advice.

This really is a good time especially if your kids are young, just plan ahead for crowds. The special fireworks they have (new last year) are really great and the decorations are too. Have a great time!

We loved MVMCP last year, want to experience MNSSHP this year too...especially the villian parade.

Has anyone waited until the "day-of" event to purchase tix?...there is a corresponding AP discount but, since it's based on availability - I'd hate to be disappointed if they sell out.

We'd go sometime the week of Oct. 9th.TIA

my husband and I have been to this twice in the last three years and we always enjoy it. A few things we've noticed based on our experience (we went once three nights before Halloween and once about two weeks before Halloween):

Crowds tend to be bigger as the month winds down - seems like people want to go to the party as close to Halloween as possible.

Crowds are smaller during the week than on weekends.

Crowds are larger when the MK first opens for the event, which makes sense because people with children want to get in, trick or treat around the park, and see the first parade and fireworks and then leave. We saw huge numbers of people exiting the park by 9PM. When we left at 11PM CM's were practically throwing candy at us as we left beacuse they had so much left over.

The wait time for rides is actually pretty minimal in most cases because a lot of people are trick or treating or watching shows or the parade. We found that hitting the rides during parade time was ideal and had the extra benefit of watching the fireworks start just as we were taking the plunge on Mount Splashmore (sorry...I mean Splash Mountain :teeth: ).

Lots of people (adults, too) get into the fun and dress up - it really adds to the atmosphere and fun. Adults are encouraged to trick or treat (we do!).

I think this event is like anything else at WDW - you've gotta plan it out based on the size and ages of your family so that everyone gets as much enjoyment out of it as possible.

Hope this helps a little!

Been in 2002, 2003 and 2005, always on Halloween evening itself. I loved it every time...

But rides are not important to me on those evenings. Iwant to Get candy, Enjoy the special events (shows, parades, stories) and enjoy the fireworks and parades. Rides can be done on any other "normal" day.

Although I did do Haunted Mansion as this ride is fitting to the Halloween event.

Also (for those enjoying pin traiding) I did some of my best trades on those nights.
