If a night is sold out, is there any tickets in reserve that are sold the day of? We have tickets for October 17 but a friend wants to come now. We r coming from Alaska and wondering if there is a chance to buy one the day of?

You're more likely to be able to buy one by phone shortly after it sells out online. In the past there have been some available to onsite guests through the concierge, but that isn't guaranteed and doesn't mean if not sold they'd become available.

Have you tried calling? Read about a couple of people on the DIS Boards being able to purchase tickets on sold out nights over the phone. Also, I've heard that the Disney owned hotels usually have day-of tickets as well. But, this is just stuff I've read on here! Hopefully someone with first hand knowledge will sat better things than me!

I have purchased tickets while staying at GCH for a sold out party, this was a couple years ago. The DLR hotels likely have party tickets available, since hotel guests might not even be aware of the party (or that an additional ticket is required).

I have also read (on this board, but not first hand) that tickets are often available in the morning at ticket booths and also inside the parks (for guests that are in the park with regular tickets and want to stay for the party).

The last 2 years, they have had tickets in the morning at the hotel starting at 630am for sold out dates. Each hotel has a very limited supply. Last year, DLH had 125 at 630a and were out by 8am. You need to be a hotel guest to purchase. There were no tickets at the ticket booth either year.(I planned better this year...)

This is second hand knowledge so don't take it at face value, but I remember reading someone post last year that they were able to get a ticket at the ticket booth the morning of the party by looking sad and explaining that they had an extra person with their group who would be left out. I've only heard this anecdote from one person so I highly doubt it's something you can count on, but if all else fails you can try it.
