Does anyone know how many tickets they sell for each night of the party? We will be buying tickets this year to go and i was trying to figure out how many people they let in for the event. We are going from October 19-23. Will attend the party at least one of those nights.
Thanks.

I don't believe Disney officially releases how many tickets they sell to each event. I can tell you, though, it is significantly less than regular park hours. But as for how many - I have no clue.

There is no set number and Disney doesn't publish this information. On any given party night, there can be 20,000+ guests in the park. Most parties sell out, so while the crowds are less than they are at Christmas or during peak summer days, don't expect a nearly empty park. People who expect zero crowds almost always come back to the board complaining about how crowded everything was.

It is still busy but the treat lines and photo ops hold a few people. It was a good chance for us to catch Paint the Night, we got a great spot by Small World only 30 minutes before the parade started.

The party nights are lots of fun, well worth it.

Agreed. Crowds behave differently at a party than during regular park days. I pay extra for party tickets to do things I can't do on a regular park day, like meet rare characters. Unfortunately that's why many other people pay extra for tickets as well. So while ride lines might reflect the lower number of people in the park, the wait for what I want to do does not.

Got it. Yeah, I was hoping for an almost empty feeling. We just got back last week from a four day trip. I was pleasantly surprised that the crowds weren't terrible. I've seen it worse during weekends in the winter. Either way, I'll have a great time as it will be my first Halloween trip. Yay.

The most crowded time for MHP is the three hour overlap when party guests are allowed in early. Day guests are still trying to squeeze in as much fun as possible during their last three hours before having to leave. Main Street can get pretty crowded during this time. As day guests leave, the party crowds spread out. But a sold out party can still feel rather crowded depending on where you choose to spend your time in the park. For example, the lines for the villains M&Gs will be long. Even the least crowded party we've ever attended didn't exactly have "an almost empty feeling."

We did your dates two years ago and they were perfect. They had reported record highs the previous weeks and said we must of hit the jackpot because it just dropped off our week. I have to say that that year all the school breaks and conventions happened the week prior so we may just have had good luck when booking. I think your dates fall on some school breaks this year but the tail end. Either way, if you can, I would do your party nights during the week. It's always more crowded on the weekend.

If your chosen party date falls during UEA, make sure to purchase your tickets early. MHP dates that fall during UEA sell out.

This year may be our first opportunity to attend a party. We aren't overly concerned with meeting characters so what is a good touring plan? Is there a strategy for the nighttime entertainment?

This is our first (likely ONLY) year of APs. I'm curious as to how much the AP discount for the party is? Are the party experiences worth the extra expenditure? I suppose I'm mostly interested in the character experiences. I don't know how much the others in my family are.

I don't recall the exact discount, but not every night has an AP discount. I know we went twice last year (during our only year with APs) and only got a discount one night.

You'll probably do better asking on this thread:

For the most part, the AP discounted were offered for the early weekday parties (mostly Monday and Wednesdays). For some nights, there was only the advance purchase price and some nights were further discounted for AP holders. The prices below are day of, advance purchase, and AP/DRVC/DVC Advance Purchase.

If you do go when you have your AP (assuming they have it again this year), they did a neat AP treat trail! It was inside the lobby for Mr. Lincoln (the Opera House). There was fun decor and a pretty nice treat. You have to have a valid AP (they scan it upon entry) and you can only go in once per night, but it was a fun little AP perk.
