Not sure how much truth there is to this, but it appears that Michael Eisner is not going to renew Mickey's contract as the official spokesmouse for Disney. According to an article in the Metro NY News: their relationship has been strained and for the last year they have been communicating through other people. Mickey's official spokesperson said, Mickey is extremely disappointed with the terms of his last contract and the new one is even worse than that. Eisner claims that Mickey has lost some of his appeal and that the kids 9 through 13 don't relate to him anymore. Mickey has been overheard saying that Eisner is not playing fair and that if things don't improve he is going to leave and join the monestary. Pluto and Goofy have no plans to leave, but they are sad that Mickey's contract is so up in the air. Donald Duck said that if Mickey goes, I go along with Daisy and my nephews. So who knows how the camps will be divided, but in my humble opinion, without Mickey there is no Magic.

Say it aing so Eisner, and give the Mouse what he wants.

Here is the deal.

The only times I go on these board is at work. I work the midnight shift so on slow nights I have a lot of down time.

This is by no means taking away all the help I received from these boards. I think they are great and have helped me plan my upcoming trip tremendously. By nature I am a practical joker and I can't help to pull a prank or two on some of the nice people here on the boards.

So did I do this before and forgot. I might have. Is it done to annoy people by all means no. In my attempt at humor I hope I don't rub some people the wrong way and actually put a smile on some faces.

Is Mickey in the Union? He should complain about the hours and work conditions. Hey, maybe he could sue Eisner for creating a hostile workplace.

As I understand the whole story . . .

There has been resentment for quite a while. It seems that Mickey has been upstaging Michael, and he doesn't like to be outdone. It is rumored that Mickey has been in closed-door negotiations with other entities. (Although not confirmed, Universal has been mentioned as a potential partner. It was rumored that Warner Bros was involved, but the character said after working for such a Mickey Mouse boss as Michael, he didn't want to go Looney Tunes.) Mickey was overheard saying, "I want to stay, but if Roy can leave, I guess I can, too.". As for Eisner, he whispered to an associate, "So instead of Mickey and Minnie, it will be Mikey and Minnie!". This also leaves an opening for new attractions such as "Eisner Enchanted Forrest" and "Mike's Movie Ride". [Film At Eleven]
