I Paid In Full today and the Cast Member told me that there would be a 'Color Spin' Dance party on my cruise where there is dancing to 90's music (hmm, I only really like 60's music and early 70's - what's 90's Music??). And you're supposed to wear the colors of your favorite character. You don't have to dress up exactly like them - but in their colors . . . Found this link. Has anyone been to one???

I loooove colorspin. Its a charactershow and they all dance to 90tied out versions of Disney songs like How far Ill go, I can go the distance, we re all in this together.
I wore a hsm shirt and a multicolored jacket. My ig has some clips (nelegeerts)

It was good. Entertaining, but hardly pirate night (although I prefer pirate night on the small ships to the bigger ones).

It seemed to be more geared toward adults than kids, music wise, which sounds like fun, but a lot of the adults were just standing there watching, not really bopping along or dancing or anything. I saw it on the TA (same one as PP, I believe) and the whole cruise just had an odd vibe to it, and the color spin party didn't help (didn't hurt either). I would've worn whatever I had on for the day and dont' remember hearing anything different.

The entertainment team is fantastic as always, but I feel like guest wise no one knew what they were supposed to be doing.

Which TA were you on? i did last September and the one two weeks ago. Seprember one there were few people watching and those watching were mostly cast and crew but this past TA the atmosphere was great (at least around me in the front row)

I think TA cruises are different. Longer. Fewer kids. And usually a little chillier/windier? Which means fewer people hanging around the pool. In fact, I can't even remember many people on the pool deck the last time I did one . . . .

Yeah! The CM I talked to when I did my PIF really didn't explain it very well. It would be better if you were given (for example) a colored scarf or flag and then when it spun to orange, all the orange people would dance. Then through all the other colors? For me, it really depends on the music. So was it music from High School Musical? I know music from that show and then classic tunes . . .

Thanks for the photos Chipmunkmania!

Each character had a different song and the songs were90s type of remix sound.
I must say overall vibe of this past ta was waaayyy better than past September (which just fell like an extended 7n)
I think they could give light up/glowstick type bracelets/necklaces to create more atmosphere

Color Spin is amazing! I might be a bit bias because of The Goofy Movie segment with the two Powerline songs is my favorite

We had it last year in Iceland/Norway and it was a total snooze fest for us. Just sort of some random songs with dancing in track suits. Yawn. Pirate night is better.

I agree. We were on the Aug Copenhagen to Southampton cruise last year and that deck party was super boring and lame. Maybe they have improved it for this year??? It was not worth it last summer for sure.

I’m looking forward to this. Any more information on how color plays into the event? Any new information?

From WDW magazine last year. I still don’t totally “get” it?

“The deck party will include appearances from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and tons of other Disney friends, all dressed up and ready to dance. Each character in the part is assigned a color, and when the wheel lands on its color, it’s time to dance. The deck party is interactive and includes a sing-along pre-show of “Into the Unknown” from Frozen 2. The spin of the wheel will bring new songs and opportunities to dance along with your favorite Disney characters.”

So are black and white a color on the wheel? Pink?

I'm definitely curious about this! I'm not sure if I've never heard of this or if I just forget since it looks like this started last year. I see someone noted it is on current Fantasy sailings. I hope that lasts through the summer as I'd love to see what this is all about.

It does seem like, at minimum, they should tell you which color/characters will be called during the even so you can pack/participate accordingly!

I think this isn't as big a deal as some people are thinking. I'd imagine if you can find a video of it, you'd know what it is, I doubt it actually changes. Each character has a color and the wheel spins and they they lead the next dance/song. It's a deck party with characters dancing, that's about it.

I enjoyed the music was good, generally Disney songs that were 90's style. It took a few minutes to recognize most. I enjoyed the music.

The characters were the regular fab 5, Chip and Dale, and Max made an appearance during some Goofy Movie songs.
