Mickey's Birthday Cavalcade

I was looking at the November entertainment schedule that just came out. Well, it sorta came out. It has no World of Color or weekend nighttime shows listed.

On Nov 18th, I see something called Mickey's Birthday Cavalcade. I realize that it's his 88th birthday, but anyone have an idea of what this event is all about? Sounds like fun!

I'm curious too. We planned to spend that day at DCA, but now are planning to go over to DL in the afternoon for the cavalcade and Christmas parade. I'm expecting just some sort of short "pre-parade" for the birthday part of it. But I still would like to see it.

In past years, he walks out in front of the castle with a band, they play a quick happy birthday, and fab 5 get in the cars they use for the rainy day parade, and drive down Main St on the parade route. The whole thing is 5-10 minutes. They only do it once, and it's usually pretty early, like before noon. They don't do it every year, the last time I remember it was probably 2008.

Just an FYI, the cavalcade is no longer listed on the calendar. Maybe it will reappear? Who knows.

Umm, that's awesome. We aren't scheduled to be there until November 20. Maybe we should start our vacation early. I remember going for Mickey's birthday when I was a kid and really enjoying the celebration. I could totally just take my kids out of school that Friday (and skip work myself), right?
