Mickey's BBQ in August?

We have planned to go to the BBQ while in WDW August 14th. From what I have been reading it is not as pleasant in August because of the heat the bugs. I was curious if anyone had attended and how it was in the summer. Thanks!

I went in August two years ago and was not bothered by bugs.

We did the BBQ in August and had a wonderful time. Bugs were not a problem and neither was the heat for that matter. We had a later ressy, so that may have had something to do with it.

I would definitely go again if I had the chance.
