I have seen 6:30-8:30, 6:30-9:30, 5:30-8:00, among other times for Mickey's Backyard BBQ, so I am thoroughly confused! The booking time on the Disney World site is 5:30, so I am assuming that is the correct time. Does anyone know how long it lasts? Thanks for any help.

The Official Disney site will have the correct times. It lasted about 2 hours

I think you have to be there at 5:30 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. show (that is supposed to last about 2 hours). Not proven, though - we decided to cancel and go to 2 different character meals versus using 2 credits there. If you call the WDW dining number they should be able to clarify.

If you book for a 5:30 show, then they start letting people into the eating pavillion at 5:20 or so and you need to be there about 15-45 minutes prior to that (unless they are still doing the upgrade to premium seats, in which case you should get there an hour early for the early entry). People start lining up early for this, and the earlier you get there, the better table you will get. The 5:30 show means dinner is supposed to start at 5:30.

We thought it was fine and worth doing once if you are a Disney fanatic and want to do all things Disney, but probably won't do it again. So many people. Standing around and waiting in the hot sun to get in. I would not choose it if I were going to only be at Disney a few times in my life and wanted to pick only the best of the best experiences.

Characters were fun and my four year old enjoyed dancing with them, but we didn't even bother waiting in line to meet them for photos and autographs. The lines were very long and took up eating/dancing time. My ten year old (nine at the time) was not particularly impressed. Food was fine. Not wonderful. I didn't have much time to eat because my little one kept wanting to be on the dance floor. Lines for beer and wine could be pretty long. We had a decent table because we got there early, but I rarely sat at it for getting food for the kids and being on the dance floor with my little one.

Music was good and country (reminded me of my home state of Tennessee) and fun and comedian was hokey and corny- good for younger kids.

Wouldn't waste the time. One of two or three places we absolutely hated.

NOTE1: Tables are long picnic tables of about 40 people per table, so you sit with
others. No reserved seating, so the "mad dash" for seats can be interesting. There is
no "front row", just the end of the picnic tables. Folks start lining up about 1-hr prior
to the 5:30pm seating. Also, the characters are there for dancing and front interaction,
and usually do not go thru tables, so sometimes there is a long line trying to get to the
characters. Also noted the sides are open to the weather. They put up plastic diverters
for winter and simple fans for summer, but it does get VERY hot/humid or cold. This is
not a well heated or air conditioned pavilion. "Dancing" characters interact well with
kids in front of the stage, and younger kids love it.
.
NOTE2: Mickey BBQ was always about one-half the price of the Hoop Dee Do Review. With
the popularity of DDP, they jumped the price double, including 2-TS coupons. WITH NO
CHANGE IN MENUS; NO CHANGE IN CHARACTERS; NO CHANGES AT ALL. Cost was barely
justified at lower prices, and not worth the current price for ribs-chicken-burgers.
.
NOTE3: The characters "dance" in front of the stage, and children come up to dance with
them. This creates a lot of pushing by the kids as they try to get next to their favorite
character. There are no lines like in the park for Meet & Greet, and no handlers to keep
the kids in a line or heaving.
.
NOTE4: New in 2016 is a plan to have Cast-1 and Cat-2 seating areas. In order to get more of your money. This makes the place an even worse bargain.

Unless you have little ones who will enjoy dancing with characters, don't waste the money. One of the few places we will not go back to.
