Looking for feed back on the Backyard BBQ at Fortwilderness. We have two DD 8 and 10 and one DS age 5. Is this worth it or not. Love to hear about your experience. We are planning our trip for this coming June.
Thank you.

We loved it ! LOTS of special character interaction - my girls were 7 & 13 when we went, the 13 yr old was just a tad too cool to dance with them...but the 7 yr old and Chip were tearing up the dance floor. THe food was tasty & well worth the price.

THe only thing I would say is allow yourself PLENTY of time to get there....we were late, & I had allowed an hour from POP....but it took and hour and 10 minutes!

ENJOY!:cool1:

Great time at Mickey's BBQ in 2008.... Plan to return again...now that I'm done trying all the other places!

Food was good, nothing special... but had the basics (chicken, turkey, etc.) I was disappointed that for Thanksgiving they didn't have real Turkey (it was obviously processed, not fresh roasted turkey). But, for a BBQ, it's good. Plenty of beer and wine for the adults, and mickey ice cream bars for the kids. Live country music band was good, kids liked watching the cowboy rope tricks and dancing with the characters.

Tip... Get there at least an hour before your time. They started letting folks in about 30 minutes before the time (first show). And if you get there too early, you might catch a pony ride nearby or there are some outdoor games and play area before you go in.

Tried it last trip in place of HDDR and don't like it nearly as much. It's like a ho-down. Country western band and rope trick cowboy. Food is mediocre, at best. Characters are Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale. After dinner, dance floor opens and characters do plenty of dancing with kids, though they do get mobbed. During dinner they walk between the tables, but no autographs and individual photos are very tough to get.

Went with 3 kids, 7, 11 and 14. Two older ones hated it. They ended up playing with the giant Checkerboard/Checkers outside the venue.

It was okay for what it was, just not for the entire family, so we won't be returning.
