Hi!!!

We're heading to Disneyworld in June. I'm trying to come up with where we'd like to eat (we've decided on trying new restaurants for us) We will be on the DDP. One we were thinking of is Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Can someone tell me how this place is? And does it require TWO table service credits?

I don't think it's a "place,", it's an outdoor barbecue picnic and show.

And yes, it is two TS credits per person. It is considered a dinner show.

Depending on the ages of your kids.....We went last year and my kids LOVED it! We had 2 8 yr olds and 2 12 yr olds...the 12 yr olds thought they were "too cool" but once Chip & Dale asked them to dance they were sold! It's just a really fun outdoor venue...the food is ok, but the character interaction is awesome....youngest dd danced with Mickey and he "twirled" her around & around....There was also wine to keep Mommy happy ......:thumbsup2

I agree.. I took my son for his 4th birthday. Character interaction is great!
It was late for him (and after the boat ride he was really tired) but, after he woke up, he had a blast.

We did this with DD about 8 years ago and it is one of her favorite memories. There was never a dull moment, either you are dancing, clapping, or eating! It is set up like a big picnic with the food buffet style, it was good and plenty. Wine for mom, beer for dad, and soft drinks for DD. She liked this better than Hoop-De-Doo because you actually got to get up and dance and dance with the characters.

Hmm... we went in September 2007 and didn't care for it. It was chaotic. I wouldn't say the character interaction was very good at all compared to normal character meals. There were three, four or five characters on the dance floor along with a hundred kids. It was a free-for-all, at least the night we were there. I know Mickey and Minnie were out together, and at times Chip and Dale and Goofy. I can't remember if they were ever all out at the same time or not though.

My DD isn't shy and jumped right in there to dance with the characters, but it was so crazy that I'm sure they didn't even see her, let alone actually pay any attention to her. We didn't stay through the end.

We by far prefer the Hoop De Doo Review. We're doing it again later this month, for the fourth time. I don't think we'll ever do the BBQ again.
