mickeys backyard bbq - yay or nay???

A big Nay from us. We went once (2003) and that was enough for us. My kids were younger then (2, 4 and 5) and I felt like they were going to get stampeded. Food wasn't bad but it was so much like a free for all that we left early. Definitely wasted our money on that one.

Nay here. We went in 2002. I think it just wasn't what we expected from Disney. We were all herded under a big pavilion, where a line snaked around for us to get our own food (not so easy with three very small children). Then a country band played, and some characters arrived and danced. We have some great pictures of my daughter doing the chicken dance with Minnie. Unfortunately, my boys were not dancers even when they were 5 and 7, so they mostly sat and ate watermelon. The food was pretty good. My son did get chosen to be part of a lasso show, so that was fun.

We thought it sounded like a fun place to go and got an ADR for our trip in June this year but then the more DW and I talked about it the more we decided we didn't want to do this for the following reasons:

1) Who wants to sit outside for 3 hours in FL in June. Hot! (I've been told they have fans blowing on you but if its hot does a fan really cool you off?)
2) We are only going to be at the parks for 7 1/2 days and didn't feel we could take an entire evening for dinner. Rides and Shows is what we are after.
3) We would rather try the better rated restaurants in Epcot.

We canceled our ADR.

I posted this same question yesterday, and based on the answers I received, I booked the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review instead. We'll be there in August, and the lack of air conditioning was one big factor in my decision.
