Need opinions from anyone whose done this. I remember reading a review a few weeks ago, but was wondering if others felt this was worth the money. It would be me, DH, DD12, and DS10.

Also, and here's the big question, is it easy to get to, and easy to get back to OKW?

TIA

Been there, and the food was great and so was the entertainment! The food is buffet...all you can eat ribs, chicken, corn on cob, macaroni salad, cake, fruits. No sure if the kids will like it at 10 & 12, that depends on the kids. Little ones love it because the characters come out for autographs and also dance with the audience! As far as transportation, its the bus rides once again.

We went when my twins were 3yrs. old. The music was way too loud for them, but older kids would probably love it. The food was really good and there was lots of it! My main complaint was that when the characters came out everyone mobbed them to get their autograph books signed. The characters were trying to dance with kids and kept getting books shoved in their faces! It also seemed very crowded to me, but at lot of people left early and then the characters came around to the tables for pictures. There are two ways to get to it- it is at the back of the fort wilderness campground. The main way is to drive or take a bus to fort wilderness and then take any bus marked settlement. That will take you to the back and then you walk over to the old River Country area. Another way is to take the boat from the Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness. It is a short walk from there.
Hope this helps

Just noticed you said you were staying at Old Key West- it is very close to Fort Wilderness- 5min drive tops. If you have a car they easiest thing would be to drive to the fort Wilderness parking lot and then take the bus to the back

Thanks for the replies. Not sure if our kids would enjoy this or not. I know DH would like the buffet, but I think I've decided to do House of Blues instead. Thanks again!

We were there a little over 2 years ago with our kids who at the time were 11, 9, and 5 and we did not like the BBQ at all. The food was just OK. It was very loud and crowded, it was like a glorified autograph session with the characters. The kids even asked to leave early. We are very easygoing and have a good time at most everything, but I think this was our all time least favorite Disney event.

I cant say we didnt have fun b/c we were, after all, in Disneyworld on vacation, but we are also pretty easygoing people who are easily pleased. We found it crowded and the people there were very pushy about the characters- really not nice at all. The food was ok. Not bad by any stretch but not as good as we had hoped. My younger two (boys ages at the time 2 and 5) asked to leave before dessert. My daughter (age 8 at the time) wanted to stay for a song...um...what was it....I cant remember, some western line dance thats all the rage among tweens now, you swing a pretend rope over your head or something? Anyway, once she did that she was also ready to go.
If you have NOTHING else to do I would do it, but pick it as a last resort. ;)
