My normal response would be to skip the BBQ but if you have 2.5 yo's than maybe that is the way to go. Do they enjoy dancing with characters and are they outgoing?

It is basically a dance party with a side of entertainment (rope twirling etc...) My kids did not like it because they would not get up and dance and they didnt like to sit on the floor and volunteer for the other parts.

Take a look on youtube before booking. I think it is a lot of fun but if your kids arent into that, you may end up bored.

Hoop de doo I think is better for all the adults. However we were there when my twins were almost 3 and they did have fun too.

1) I hate to recommend BBQ over HDDR.
2) But, momtoejanda is probably correct here.
3) Compared to HDDR, BBQ has
. . . worse food
. . . worse atmosphere
. . . worse seating
. . . no reserved tables
. . . no walls for protection from night air or weather
4) BUT, IT HAS KIDS DANCING WITH CHARACTERS.
5) For the single, sole, solitary reason, I agree.

We have gone to both MBBQ and HDDR and prefer HDDR hands down. Our children were 3 and 6 the last time they attended both events. I asked them which show they want to go to again on our next trip and to my suprise they picked HDDR. I'm glad they enjoyed it as much as my wife and I did. It's a fun and relaxing evening filled with old school Disney charm. The BBQ on the otherhand was overly loud and at times seemed unorganized. I know my kids still had fun and that is all that matters to us.
