Hi All,
We went to downtown DC yesterday to see the cherry blossoms and then walked over to Federal Triangle to see the Mickey statues. The weather was perfect, the crowds big and the Mickeys were a lot of fun! Our digital camera has been acting up so we took real film pics. Can't wait to get them back on Wednesday. Even DH was getting in the spirit by posing the kids for "good scrapbook pages." Gotta love it! A bit of Disney magic right here. If you can get there, I highly recommend it.

My DS and her family went to see them on Sunday, she said the traffic getting into DC was horrid, it took them an hour and 45 min to get there, but coming home it was fine. She lives in VA right outside of Manassas. I hope to get there this weekend. I am already planning my album pages. I have a program for my digital where I can print 2"x3" wallet size pics so I should be able to do all 75 on a smaller amount of pages.

bigmerle1966 -- We saw plenty of parking spaces close to the Tidal Basin, but the pedestrian traffic alone was enough to make us glad we took Metro. It would have taken a long time to go at a snail pace to get to them. My in-laws live in Arlington so we drove to their house and took the Orange line to Smithsonian, then walked to the Mickeys and took the Orange line back @ Federal Triangle. The Metro was packed going in (we were there about noon) but much better heading home.

Awwww, I want to go see the Mickeys and the cherry blossoms! I'm just too far away though.... :sad2:

Hi soccerchick, I remember you from WDW!! Were the cherry blossoms looking good? We went for the festival and of course it was way too early to have any blooms. But we did get to see the Mickey Statues!!

I was thinking it would be a good idea for us to take the Metro too. Sometimes trying to find a parking space can be a pain and I don't like some of those parking garages, they freak me out. And with the weather being great this weekend I am sure a lot of people will be in DC.

We drove into DC late Monday afternoon to see the cherry blossoms. It was a beautiful afternoon - blue skies, no clouds, pleasant temps, new digital camera & lots of photos. We parked around the corner from the Jefferson Memorial.

We parked right ther at the Regan Building where the statues are, in that garage. It was only like $12 all day or something like that. However in order to park there, everyone in the car must show a photo id (kids excluded). If you don't have a photo id, you cannot go in. Also, we had to have our car and trunk inspected and go through security. It made us feel safe.

We're going down to DC next week with our son's Boy Scout troop. I hope I can convince everyone that we HAVE to see the Mickey Statues!

I was in DC the past two weeks, got to see all the mickey statues and the cherry blossoms. It was the first time I had seen the trees in blossom.

Thanks to the ladies who gave me excellent metro directions for Federal Triangle.
