Mickey's 20th Anniversary Marathon Medal Reveal

Finally, runDisney has revealed the special medal for the 20th anniversary of the Mickey Marathon.

I love the medal and can't wait to see if Goofy will be the same as last year. The Donald medal is also new and very pretty!

Now on Sunday the decision on what medal to wear just got difficult. The Perfectly Goofy lanyard draws attention to the Goofy medal and that kind of trumps the Mickey... but this new Mickey is something one will want to wear. I will not wear both as I go crazy with the constant clank, clank, clank of the medals hitting one another.

I love the medal (but really hate it!) because I wasn't planning on going to WDW for the race this Jan. Trying to hit some other states and the budget wasn't cooperating. Now I may have to re-work some things to try to fit it in.

If I go, I may only sign up for the full, as I have not had much success in getting through the Goofy the last couple years. If I can just get the marathon under my belt, I think Goofy will follow.

Maybe you could wear one hanging in the front and one hanging in the back - no clanking and people can be impressed whether you're coming or going, hee, hee.

ooooh, Terri! That 20th anniversary medal is calling you, isn't it? I'm going down (by myself) for the marathon only this time. I'll be back for Goofy in 2015 for the anniversary medal.

Coach, I've got a solution for you. Just slide your perfectly Goofy lanyard into the Mickey medal "hook" or whatever you call that. I'm going on the assumption that all the medals and lanyards attach the same way now.

I don't know how it will look but you'll be displaying both accomplishments this way.

I really like the medal. I won't be there for marathon weekend this year but that medal is the best Disney medal they have done so far IMO.

or something to that effect.

Now if only I can get rid of this injury I've had for the past 3 months, so I can actually start training for this thing! (I'm already registered for the marathon, but still have a femoral neck stress fracture I'm working through).

A little Disney magic should heal me!!

You make a good point. But I have to wear them all at least to the airport and the flight home. LOL

Yeah, I have seen people do it, but the clanking (and potential damage from clanking) would keep me from doing it. When I went coast to coast last time, I just put that one on in the park and left Mick in the room.

There's no way I will wear all 4...those Disney medals are heavy! I feel like my neck would be sore...LOL!

My husband and I were discussing which ones to wear after completing Goofy...not sure what to do. It's a good problem to have though!

I like the medal! I prefer the Disney marathon medals with the more prominent Mickey ears that stick out off the top, and this medal doesn't have them. But I still like this design!!

The Mickey medal is so cool that my neice and I decided to sign up for Goofy. We were going to wait until 2015 for the Goofy anniversary medal but changed out minds.
I'm nervous about doing Goofy, but know it will be a great experience.
Now I need to find the Goofy thread and ask lots of questions!
