Mickey Waffles

I really want to get a mickey waffle so we were going to make a reservation for breakfast at Storytellers. I was a little shocked at the almost $18 price for one mickey waffle, but we figured we would splurge. Then I saw that white water snacks has a mickey waffle on the menu for $5.99. I am guessing it is much smaller. Is the waffle at Storyteller's really worth paying 3 times the price of the white water one?

I can't believe I am putting this much thought into which waffle to get. Planning this trip is making me a little crazy.

It depends, I know people hate it when you say that but don't think about just the waffle. A part of the price is the overall experiance, are you willing to spend the extra money to be a part of the overall experiance with the characters being there and seeing the interior of the cafe? I'd say yes, Especially if you have kids, the characters are super friendly there and they do many things to keep the kids occupied. Also the interior is really well conceived and executed. Its definety is my favorite place to eat breakfest outside the park itself.

Just to throw another alternative out there, have you considered Carnation Cafe on Main Street? Their Mickey waffle is only around $9 and comes with bacon I think, and you get to eat breakfast in Disneyland. Or were you preferring to eat breakfast before park hours?

No kids, just my boyfriend and I, so I'm not sure we need the characters. But thanks for your input!

Hmm, that's an option I didn't know about. Any idea what time they stop serving breakfast? I don't see it listed on the official page or the allears menu.

I am a big advocate of character meals - and my friends and I do not have kids - BUT the breakfast menu items at Storytellers are very expensive for what you get (the buffet there is actually a much better deal), so if you are not interested in the character meal experience, there is absolutely no sense in paying that much money for a waffle and whatever sides it comes with.

I have no clue what the waffle is like at WWS. I didn't even know they had one there. As Longtimedisneylurker suggested, try Carnation Cafe. Great location. Charming atmosphere. No characters. Good food. Cheaper waffle! I think they stop serving breakfast before 11:00 a.m. - but not sure of the exact time.

Have you tried the Mickey pancake at River Belle Terrace? No Mickey waffles there, but a good pancake nonetheless!

At Storyteller's they serve mini Mickey waffles to those who order them off the buffet - that might be what you get if you order off the menu as well. Just in case the size of the waffle makes a difference to you.

I second Sherry's recommendation of the Mickey Mouse pancake at River Belle Terrace - I am really not a pancake eater, but those are really good.

If you don't care about the characters, I would say either Carnation Cafe or River Belle Terrace. Carnation Cafe is table service and River Belle Terrace is counter service. Both are inexpensive as far as DL goes.

Right then, we would not think of a trip to Disneyland without at least one breakfast at the Carnation Cafe...here's 3 of them...I have more but how many pictures of the waffle there do you need to convince you?? I'm soooo hungry now....don't know why I keep taking pictures of this... don't forget to order it with strawberries, that's what's in the cup with whip cream on top....the other plates are eggs benedict and Oscars special...they also make a deadly clam chowder and turkey sandwich on fridays...lol and just so you can see what it's like there...a pic of most of my family there...hubby and myself on right (what's that on my plate?? ), son and his wife, and our youngest daughter on left. missing is our middle daughter....we're sitting right beside the divider from the street. If you time it right, the Disneyland marching band will go down the street in the morning.... I can not wait to be there again in July!! Make a resie so you don't have to wait in line cause there is always a line to get in!

Those Mickey Waffles are magical, aren't they? My waffles at home never taste that good. Anyway, the WWS waffles are mini. I got them last time. Kind of disappointed. The CC ones are the best. And thanks to smiley_face2 for the wonderful photos.

If I didn't have a Mickey waffle maker of my own, I'd accuse you of cruel & unusual punishment for posting these pics when I won't be in the Park for another few months Seriously, though...great pics!

OP: I'd go with the Mickey waffles at Carnation Cafe'...if you just want the Mickey waffle & not the whole Character experience, there's no reason to pay around twice the price for the same meal!

We had both in December. The one large waffle from Storytellers is exactly the same size as the one large waffle at White Water Snacks. On the buffet at Storytellers you can also order mickey waffles and they are the little waffles, the one off the a la carte menu is the large waffle. The difference is that the one at Storytellers is served on a china plate, it also comes with (from memory) some sort of berry compote (I think that is in a side dish but maybe that was because we asked for it without the fruit). The one at White Water Snacks is on a paper plate or in the case of takeout it comes in a white container. But when it comes down to it, the waffle is the same, same taste, same maple syrup, one with berry thing one without.
