Mickey Mouse Pancakes

It has been a long standing family tradition that we go to the River Belle Terrace for Mickey Mouse Pancakes one morning while we are in the park.

However, the River Belle will be closed for refurbishment during our trip in October.

Does anybody know where I can get my Mickey Mouse pancake fix anywhere else at the resort?

You can get them either at Goofy's Kitchen (if you want to pay for the full buffet), OR you can order them off the menu ala carte at Storyteller's. Pancakes are not actually on the menu (the waffles are), but my kids always order them ala carte and it has never been a problem. They charge you the same as the waffles.

Is River Belle Terrace the restaurant with an exit right near Tarzan's Treehouse, and the main entrance/exit is through an outdoor seating area? Actually, since I know we had Mickey pancakes there, and if it's the only park restaurant that has them, then it must have been RBT that I'm thinking of!

Yes, the back entrance to RBT is right at Tarzan's treehouse. It has great outdoor seating overlooking the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer's Island. When I was a kid we would eat breakfast there and listen to the old Swiss Family Treehouse music. It is a wonderful memory.

I'm going in October too. Where can you see that it's closed?

Go to Mouseplanet.com. They have Disneyland updates every Monday. Actually, DLR's been talking about refurbishing RBT for a year now. They are going to expand the restaurant and take out Bengal BBQ.

I think Carnation Cafe (our favorite breakfast joint) has mousecakes (or maybe it's mouse waffles?

I looked at the menus. Carnation Cafe does Mickey Waffles. Maybe they will do Mickey pancakes while RBT is closed. I'll keep my ears open.

oh rats, we'll be there in mid-November and I was looking forward to eating breakfast there! I love that place, it has such a quaint 'old' Disneyland feel to it. I hope they just modernize the kitchen and don't change too much of the decor!
