For my sister and brother in laws 25 anniversary I cut out 6" mickey mouse head shapes and sent them to people so that they could write a special message on them. What I forgot to do was to specify that they write on one side. While most people have - several have not.

I wanted to mount them on pages in a 12x12 scrapbook entitiled friends, family, .etc - but that will be tricky if there is a two sided message. Any creative ideas on what I should do now?

I am a novice scrapbooker but with Michaels/AC Moore nearby I can get any materials necessary.

The Ears

Can you just scan the back side and print it out?

Did the people who wrote on the back write on the ears like your sample or close to the edges? If not maybe you could make a hinge so you could "open" the Mickey head...like hidden journaling.

Since there will be many pages in the album, all pages wouldn't need to be done in the same format. How about creating a pocket for the double sides ones? Then just tuck the Mickey head in the pocket.

That is a great idea. Could photocopy it but I like the idea of the pocket since you will have it the original way they sent it to you

I can't find it right now, but I have bought 12x12 scrapbook pages that fold out. They also come in 6x6 and 8x8. The brand might be C line, but I can't remember. They are by the sheet protectors and say something about pages in motion.

They would work well because you could just put the Mickey head in the fold out and be able to see both sides.

They carry them at several local craft stores near me. If you need me to I can call and find out the brand name for you.

I like the pocket idea - do they make clear pockets so it would not be hidden

And yes if you could figure out the names of those fold out pages that would be cool.

Keep the ideas coming

My idea would be a pocket with the ears sticking out of the pockets, that way you could just pull the ears out and read what the person wrote on the Mickey heads! That way, you wouldn't ruin the original in any way! For the ones that only wrote on one side, you could just mount those on a solid color and mount in your book so it would stand out differently!

I called the store and it is C Line brand. They have pages that fold out to 12x24, pages that fold out to 12x18, pop ups, all kinds of different kinds so you should be able to find something that would work.

Good luck.
