For our last day we were up at 7:45 and out at 8:25. First on the list was to drop our cases off at Downtown Disney so we drove round there, arriving at about 8:45.

We were first in the Premium Economy queue so we were seen straight away and there was a bit of excitement when the agent asked if we minded being moved upstairs. We thought he meant first class but it turned out he thought the seats I had chosen were in the downstairs Premium Economy section when in fact they were the last row upstairs – actually that was a common theme this time – when we boarded the plane coming out we were told to go across the plane and turn right, then the check-in agent thought we were downstairs, then when we boarded the flight to come home we were told to go across and turn right!

We were away from Downtown Disney within about 15 minutes of arriving and went back to BWV to pick up our hand luggage and other bits and pieces, stopping off in the shop to buy a couple of luggage tags.

We were out again at 9:40 and stopped off at the valet desk because we had been charged for 3 days parking when we had only used it twice. It turns out that they charge based on calendar days so if you park overnight you get charged twice!

Once we had that sorted out we went up to Congo River golf on International Drive where we played the harder Livingstone course and neither of us did very well.

From there we went back to Downtown Disney and into Earl of Sandwich where Dad had the Hawaiian and I had the Caribbean Jerk Chicken. Once we had eaten we went back to BWV to spend the rest of our time using the free wifi in the lobby.

This is the Belle Vue lounge where we had our evening drinks.

By 2:30 we could not put off the inevitable any longer and so we left BWV and started making our way to the airport, leaving Disney property for the last time this trip at 2:45. We had dropped the car off by 3:15 and after stopping for a quick look through the shops, we went through security and were at the gate by 3:55.

Since we had a while to wait before boarding I decided to go and have a look in the duty free shop. As I was walking up there I walked past a woman talking on her mobile phone and the only sentence I heard was - "I've got blisters on me ****s" Who knows what she had been up to!

Boarding began at around 5:00, we pushed back about 5 minutes early and were in the air around 10 minutes later. Once we were in the air we had a whisky and ginger each and then it was time for dinner. This was supposed to be a choice of lamb curry or chicken but, once again they ran out of one of the choices so I had chicken while Dad had the vegetarian choice, which was ravioli.

The flight was pretty uneventful - I watched The Guard on the inflight entertainment then American Pie and American Pie 2 on my iPad then updated my trip report. The pilot took the slightly bumpy route back but although the seatbelt sign came on a few times it was nothing too bad.

About 90minutes before we were due to land breakfast was served, which was a choice between a full English and a mushroom omelette. I don't really like airline breakfasts so I just had an apple juice but Dad had a mushroom omelette.

We landed 45 minutes ahead of schedule at 6:20 but thanks to a long taxi, a long hike to passport control and a wait for our bags we were not going through customs until 7:00. After a quick phone call to our taxi driver we were on the road by 7:20 but the London rush hour was as busy as ever so we did not get home until 8:55 but the house was still standing and the car was still outside, which is always a good thing to see.

And so another trip comes to an end. We had a great time and I can see now why people fall in love with the Boardwalk - we will definitely be staying there again at some point in the future.

All attention now switches to our trip in March next year for the maiden voyage of the Fantasy and a few days at Animal Kingdom Villas afterwards - look out for the 'Fantasy Surf & Turf' pre-trip report for details of that one.

As always a big thank you to everyone for reading and especially to those who have left comments which always encourages me to keep posting.

Until next time – cool runnings. :goodvibes

I really enjoyed your trip report, it was fun to hear about all the places you ate that weren't at Disney. Nice that you and your dad get along so well to take vacations together and I'm looking forward to reading your next trip report.

Enjoyed your trip report.

Can I ask, what was the usual DTD Virgin check in line like early. We are looking to do this for the first time this year when we come home
