SURGEON GENERAL WARNING: As it is my first time writing a trip report, I apologize in advance for any boredom you may suffer during the length of this trip report and I do not claim any responsibility for any damage you may do to your computer or yourself when you're yelling "Okay, move along now!". :teeth:
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Here goes nothing....

All the successful trip reports I have read, state a cast. By successful I mean they get lots of readers/comments begging for the next update, their TR is the first on the TR forum list, people make little idols of them and put them by their computers...er..um, uh ha..ha..moving on....

Cast:

thcinderella.jpg
- Cristabel (me). 17 yrs; Love almost anything Disney; prefer the classics over anything. Always get that warm, fuzzy feeling whenever I see a Disney commercial. To explain my icon, its a nickname by my aunt, Cristabelly; like when the mice are singing "cinderelly"..yeah, onward!

::MinnieMo - Anais; 6yrs. Loves watching Disney movies and of course Disneyland (she's only been twice though). Is thoroughly excited for this trip because she gets to stay at a hotel, go figure  . The official countdowner

- Diana; 19. Somewhat excited about the trip. Jealous (deep down, i know it ;) ) because her I am getting a better graduation present than she did. Is possibly the only person who can be my enemy/friend at the same time.

maleficent.jpg
- Mami (hispanic term for mom); if I told you her age, I'd have to kill you. Contrary to her icon, is very nice and loves to have fun with her family. Doesn't understand the love I have for Disney. Diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which causes her to feel ill at times (may explain the several possible rest stops in the TR).

genie.jpg
- Papi (hispanic term for dad); couple years older than my mom. The ultimate family man, will do anything for us. Mr. Moneybags, ha ha not really :lmao: Mr. funny man, in a very corny way :rotfl:

December 05/ Jan 06: I was in my room looking at the different vacations offered by AAA, trying to decide what to do for my high school graduation in June and what do my eyes gaze upon?
That's right! AAA's rate for a Disney World vacation! I calculate the expense in my mind and realizing that it may actually be feasible for us to do it, run downstairs to show my dad.

I approach my dad with a sweet smile and start off "uh...papi..." he looks at me suspiciously, replying " *sigh* what do you want?" :sad2:

After giving my spiel on how great this would be yatta yatta, all he says is "and?" Parents what can you do with 'em?

So I have to act as our travel agent and feverishly search the web for airfare, tickets, etc.

So I created a powerpoint; comparing my findings (onsite vs. offsite, AAA discounts, plan of attack etc), I even embedded Disney music clips! I was on a quest to impress my family with my mad skills!

I set up a "meeting" time with my family one night. I attached the computer to our big screen tv and gave my presentation. I said everything very "matter-of-factually".

The "plan" was to stay 5 days, because I knew that would already be pushing it but at the end of my presentation, my parents decided Heck why not a whole week? SCORE!

Just recently my dad paid the balance of the trip to AAA. Only about a month to go and I can barely keep sane.

I constantly share tips and funny pet peeves of the DISers to my mom, as to make sure we get the most out of our first trip and that we don't do or say something really dumb and a DISer will be there to catch us.

I'm onto you, all of you!

You won't catch me say anything like that....not aloud anyways

Our trip is scheduled June 10th-16th and I can't wait! :hyper:

this is so fantastic. You have a good head on your shoulders and presented your case great. Now have you thought of going to Law School????? Hope you have a great time in Disney. I have been to both Riverside and Port Orleans side. You will love it and so will your family. Keep us posted

I hope when my almost 14 year old is your age she has as much drive and determination that you must have.

We are going to be there about the same time we have 104 days until we arrive at the world!

Here's wishing you a trip full of pixiedust: pixiedust:

I even made a powerpoint presentation about WDW stating the facts I had found and describing the parks, for goodness sake I even embedded Disney music into the show!

You are a girl with a future!!! Way to go, doing your research and presenting your ideas! I am sure your DF was out of his mind with pride.

I can't wait to hear about your trip and comparisons to DL!

Thanks so much for the compliments and responses over all so far, please keep them coming!!! :thumbsup2

Good job! I am hoping that my daughter will one dya think as you do. She still prefers the "whine first, ask nicely later" mode of Daddy persuasion.

Okay so recently I have spent all my time on the DIS and I just love it! i especially love the trip reports board, it helps me pass the time before our first WDW trip. Well our final payment is due this friday and I am getting a bit anxious because of the Delta incident going on but recently I read that they have made an agreement and they are just waiting for it to go through.
AAA mailed us a change of flight schedule and a thick brochure for WDW. I am wondering, has anyone booked through AAA before? Do they send you the special DME tags?? Should I talk to our travel agent? Well its only 54 more days until we leave So. California for a week and I am getting pretty antsy cause I am waiting for my graduation and this trip, and of course school is stressful. Okay thats all for now, next time I update this will be when we leave!!! I plan on taking lots of pictures and a little journal with me so I can recap each day.

Where did you buy the little plastic sleeves for your tickets? Your trip sounds exciting, I have to wait till next year.

Welll for like 3 something I got a whole package of them from Staples, it was hard finding stickers but your local craft store should have them, if you want you can get more for your money if you buy online from the sticker companies.
