Hi everyone

Just seen surfing Earth Google and found what must be the largest Mickey ever. Been trying to work out how to post it here but have failed :badpc: (not very technical) .

Anyway if you have not seen it before and want to check it out, you need to find the end of the 192 where it meets the 27 and head north up the 27, it is on the right hand side of road, there is a large lake on the right hand side.

It is easily visable at 'eye altitude' 20 miles

Now that's a Mickey!

That is a very deliberate mickey plantation!!! No idea what it is but I found it too!

North of shell pond road (find the large lake louise and its just below on other side of 27)

I want one in my garden!!

Hopefully someone can post a link as I'm not familiar with the directions :)

Looks like Orange Groves to me and definitely very purposefully set up to be 'Mickey Ears' :teeth:

Can't link as Google Earth is a download onto your computer.

If you have Google Earth look for AK then go down and you find a road which goes East/West, go to the end of it Westwards and then you find a North/South road go North on it quite a way and you will spot it!

Claire ;)

Is this the one?

Yes only problems in have now been on it for and hour tryong t find our hotel and I can't , seems to be blared picture must be before it was built as I can find the one next to it. :confused3

Google Earth is a composite of digital satellite photos. The problem is that some are not as hi-res as others so appeared to be blurred. Hopefully they will all be the same standard some day and we'll all be able to spot our own homes!!!

Yes, CBR was a blur when we looked for it last year, but now its there nice and clear.

Last time I looked the AK area was a blur. Most of the UK that I've looked at is not clear either!

I like how you can see the people in Epcot, and has anyone zoomed in on Seaworld? Is that Shamu I see??!!!

I like looking at millitary stuff :)

How about the Davis Monthan Air Force Base near Tuscon, Arizona where the USAF stores it's aircraft - and even has a program for destroying B52 bombers

Or the huge compass cut into the desert at Edwars Air Force Base in California. I guess it might be used for the orbiter landings?

The best one is the shot of the City of Lincoln Lancaster Bomber caught flying over Huntingdon!

Google Earth is the best way to turn 5 mins into multiple hours of fun - no wonder businesses ban it from work machines!

Have you seen Local.live.com? I think some of the pictures are older than google but they are very clear. I especially like the birds eye view that they have in some areas.

Well done Shell Bell

Thanks for posting it, that's what I was trying to do but failed miserably. :thumbsup2

Just about to suggest Live.local for their birdseye level pics of the parks. Brilliant!!
