Mickey Fastpass

So I just read on Disney's blog that starting in spring they are going ahead with the fastpasses for character meets. It's for WDW only for now and only Mickey so far. Maybe they took the hint that people didn't want to reserve everything on their trip and are trying more fastpasses instead. I will be interested in seeing how it works.

I'm curious as well to see how it will work. If they end up bringing to DLR, I might even start seeing more characters

Currently, how long of a wait is "typical" (if there is such a thing!) for Mickey's House and Minnie's House? Are they available for meet-n-greet all day, or just certain hours?

Keep in ming right now just a WDW thing. You might consider it a test over there. Meeting Mickey can require a long wait of 30 minutes on slow days over and an hour maybe more on busy days.

I lined up for 20 minutes to see Mickey in his house and we thought that was long enough, although walking through the house was fun, it was a bit long to wait just for a photo IMO. A fast pass could work (I know this is only WDW at the moment) as in, get a pass, explore Mickey's house in the wait time, return, but in general line ups to see characters it wouldn't be worth it I don't think.

Also keep in mind that Mickey no longer has a "house" in WDW so there isn't that to keep kids entertained in line.

Actually he is getting a special que in his new meeting place in the MK, WDW. So I think it will be more entertaining than it was before.

I kind of like this idea. Ive skipped out on taking pictures with several characters that I wanted pictures with, just because the line is too long. So having the option of a Fast Pass would be nice. Even if the fastpass was in place you are still going to every once in awhile see characters with very short lines, so you can just wait your few minutes for your turn. But for those special moments where the lines are crazy, you have an option. I hope they dont make charcters like Mickey a Fastpass ONLY. That would be horrible. I hope Disney finds a way to combine the lines.

However I do hope that they come out with the talking characters permanently at some point. I know they were testing Mickey so he could talk and interact with guests. That was cool.
