I was looking through the Impressions website and I really like the look of embossing the edges of your invitation paper and/or your programs with the Mickey heads that also appear on many of the cake choices. Does anyone know where you can buy an embossing kit with Disney stuff? Is there such a product? Can you individually buy the Mickey head stamp?

They have some scrapbooking things on www.disneydirect.com (online disney store) right now. One of them is a Mickey (and a Princess) metal stencil set. You can emboss with that if you have the embosser too. I don't know if it's exactly what you want...but it's a start! :teeth:

Thanks. I just went to look, but all I can seem to find are the rubber stamps. I searched 'scrapboking' and I also searched 'stamps.' Any other idea as to how I could find them? That's what I'm looking for I think. You know on the Disney wedding show on the food network when they show how they make the cakes with the mickey heads and minnie heads and they have that stamp that they dip into the silver dust...I'm looking for a stamp like that.

I know exactly what you are talking about! I've searching for months for something like that and can't find one! I feel in love with the Impressions invitations...until I found out how much they charge you for them. I found just the stamps as well. You might want to try and call Disney weddings or email a Disney consultant to see if they have suggestions.

Good luck and let me know if you find anything!

I have a friend who has a Mickey die. It looks like three swirls (kinda like you see on the plates at Chef Mickeys). She can put it on front of a scrapbook or on a napkin, invitation or any kind of card. I'll send you her information if you are interested, just send me a PM. She can do it in silver, gold or any other color of foil that she has...she is located in Alabama.

Here are the stencils. (I just type 'scrapbook' into the search box and everything comes up). You'd have to buy an embosser (little tool with a round tip) to emboss it...then add sparkle or whatever...

Here are some stamps...I know at least one is a Mickey Head...

Hi! I was looking for this stuff too. Here's what I found:

If you want a mickey icon stamp, the only place you will find it is in the Disney alphabet set:

You won't be able to get the shiny foil engraved look like the Impressions invitations, but you can emboss them with some silver embossing powder.

I too didn't purchase the silver mickey invitations from Impressions because they were just SO pricey...we ordered the carlson craft ones from them though. It was a really hard decision, because we REALLY loved the silver ones.

I have a suggestion, but it will take a lot of work if you are interested. Make your invitations and print them on your cardstock or whatever with a laser printer or copier, NOT inkjet. Buy the silver heat transfer foil from www.texascraft.com. Follow instructions for heat transfer foil. It's a pain in the butt, but if it comes out nice, so worth it!

I have all 3 sizes of mickey icon punch, and used the medium punch and whale of a punch to do my favors...what a lot of work! I'll see if I can get some pics uploaded because they are really nice.

I will eventually get this stamp...you might like it for your placecards?

Just sharing my knowledge! PM me if you like!

I made my own and then talked to the company doing our wedding cake. I actually gave her a copy of the video from the woman doing the cakes. I think her name was Michelle Munich. Anyhow I had the heads laser cut from stainless steel, instead of the Mickey pin that was used on the show. The cake turned out almost perfect. If you are interested I think I have more of the heads that can be mounted to a wooden dowel. Just like it is in the show.

Wow! Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. Sorry I haven't been able to respond sooner. The move to SC has been taking its toll :)

check your local micheal's craft store in the embossing area they had several of these -- hobby lobby has some of the rubber stamp sets. hope this helps!
