very cute - can you make chocolate ones too.

You can make pizzelles in a bunch of flavors. My mom has done chocolate ones before.

I love pizzelles and have always wanted a maker and how can I resist Mickey? BUT...where will I put another appliance?

Thanks for the link-great price!

Just ordered this-it looked so cute, and we're getting ready for a Mickey birthday party, but what are pizzelles, LOL? And how do you make them? :teeth: Thanks

You're not Italian are you? ;)

Pizzelles are very thin Italian waffle cookies that you make with a pizzelle iron. Mix up the batter, put about 1 tablespoon in the iron, close lid for 30 seconds, and remove cookies to wire rack to cool. You make 2 cookies at a time, it can be time consuming depending how much batter you have. Some grocery stores in my area sell them, but they are inferior IMNSHO to home-made ones. My family usually makes these for holidays, espcially Christmas!

As far as a recipes, there are several online you can try. Just google Pizzelle Recipes. You can make them with anise, lemon, or almond extract! I've even tried chocolate ones.

Thanks, Mandabella! Nope, not Italian, but with that name I bet you are! ;)
I can only imagine how wonderful all those homemade pasta dishes are at your family gatherings! (and pizzelles too, of course) :)

I will try and google a recipe. I hope its not too hard! Thanks again!

Here's my SIL's recipe for pizelles:
  • 6 eggs
  • 1½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbl orange extract
  • 1 Tbl lemon extract
  • 1 Tbl vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients and mix until smooth. Cook according to pizelle iron manufacturer's directions.

The recipe is not the traditional anise flavor but the taste is more appealing to kids and 'merigans (Americans).

You will get a recipe book included with your mickey cookie baker..these come out great!!ENJOY Marianne :goodvibes

Thank you! My wife's birthday is a week from today (I hope it arrives in time)

She will LOVE the waffle cones!!!

You have to try these with the anise, they are just the best. My grandmother made them this way and would order her oil of anise from the pharmacist and always had a bottle on hand. They are delicious!!

That's a GREAT price....I'm ordering one tonight for my sister ..now just wondering if I should get one???

You know you want one. And you're going to be sorry when your sister tells you how much she loves hers. And by then they'll be sold out. :teeth: :teeth:

:thewave: Wow...

Thanks so much! Just ordered me one of these. Can't beat the price and I really needed a new one, but a Mickey one!!! :earseek: Perfect! My husband will be so happy that I can make these for him again, they are his favorite.

Have a great day,
Shawn :cheer2:
