The first time we went on DCL Mickey was at port to take pictures. Is there always a character to take pictures at the port? Are they there the entire time or only until the people start boarding? We are planning on taking the bus from the resort to the port. I’m just wondering if the characters will still be there when we arrive.

We cruised late April and arrived at the port just after 10, didn't board until after 12 and I saw Mickey and Minnie for sure. I don't remember if there were any other characters. They had a decent size line, but I remember when Mickey left Minnie was only a minute away.

EDIT: For clarification - this was at Port Canaveral and we were sailing on the Fantasy

We have cruised many times, always out of Port Canaveral, and there has been a character in the terminal every time we've been there. Mickey or Minnie (switching out, about every 15 min or so), and sometimes Pluto. They are always there when we get there (around 10 30 am or so), and they stay there quite a while. I dont know exactly when they leave, but I cant imagine that they would leave until well after boarding has begun, especially if you are coming in on the Disney transportation. They will want to provide the photo opp for you too, I would think. Maybe you wont have to wait in the Looong line that we always encounter!

We've seen them when we've been in the terminal at noon or earlier. On our last cruise we didn't get to the terminal until nearly 2pm, there were no characters. In fact we were the only cruisers in the terminal at that time. Upside-- it made it a lot easier to get pics of the terminal without a lot of people in the way.

Agree, that at some point they stop meeting. What time that is, I do not know.
