Michelle & Jeff's Wishes 12/8/12-WP / GF WH / Morocco - PJ with Photos

hey girls!!!! I dont have a very big update, but I did finally decide on a short dress. Im not going to change into it for our reception or dessert party, but I wanted a white some-what weddingy dress for when we go to dinner at a couple of our nicer choices like CRT. I figured I could wear my wedding day shoes with it (seen in the pic) and I could always wear my ears with the veil with it. I liked that this one has pick-ups since my actually wedding dress does too. I actually found it at David's Bridal (I didnt want to spend a ton on it, its $159) What do you think?

(sorry it was a size too small so thats why Im holding it in the back)

Yay! My short dress came in the mail today!!! I was in between sizes on what to get... I could try the bigger size on but it was big, but I ordered the smaller size and it fits perfect! :yay:
That's always a great feeling :banana::cool1::banana::cool1:

We also finally sucked it up and bought the Just Married buttons on Ebay... They should be arriving any day!

That's all the updates I have for today...

Ahhh Im getting so excited! Our planning session is this Friday May 11!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

We actually just made some plans, we are going to stay the night after our planning session (not at a Disney Resort but somewhere off Lake Buena Vista - like 5 miles away from Disney) and that night we are going to 1900 Park Fare for the dinner with Cinderella and the step sisters... Ive been wanting to do that, then we are going to walk to the beach at Grand Floridian and watch the fireworks. Then we decided the next day to hit a park yay!!! And head home that night.

I will make sure to take tons of pics at our planning session :thumbsup2

I'm my gosh! I'm so excited!!!! Our planning session is tomorrow! 10:30 - 5:00!!! Yay!!!!!!!

Hi! I fell behind somewhere along the way but I'm all caught up now. Late congrats on graduating! The STDs and invites are adorable and I'm super jealous of your dining plans!!! DF looooves cars so that's so cool that yours got to do the exotic driving experience! I hope you have a fantastic plannning session and trip! Can't wait to hear about it!

Have a great time at your planning session.

Don't get too full and ruin your dinner at 1900 because the menu tasting will do that to you. I don't think I ate dinner after ours. :rotfl:

Thank you... I know looking at the pics of your menu tasting and planning session really helped me :)

I think our menu tasting is going to be around 11:30... at least thats what Meri had told me originally. Kind of early for a big meal at the menu tasting, but I will be waking up at like 5:00 AM tomorrow so I might be ready to eat then lol

If our menu tasting is later then yeah I dont think I will be hungry... oh well we will see!!

It's Planning Session Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited!!! I'll report back on Sunday!

We left Sarasota about 8:00 AM and headed to Orlando. We arrived about a half hour early, and decided we would park and go into the bath place inside GF Lobby so I could get some bath balls. After we pulled through the GF gate and were headed towards the Convention Center parking lot… the most amazing thing happened – I SAW RICHARD!!!!! I was looking very forward to meeting him…he is like a celebrity in my opinion. He was just arriving at work that day and was crossing in front of my car from the parking lot going towards GF. I told Jeff to stop! I rolled down the window and yelled “RICHARD!!!!!” He came walking back towards my car window, and I said “You don’t know me yet, but we are getting married here on December 8 2012 and I was looking so forward to meeting you!” He said thank you and was very sweet. He also wrote down when our wedding was to make sure he was working that day, and later in the day we saw him again and he had went into work and made sure he put in to work that day for our wedding – HOW SWEET!!!

We had to meet Meri over at the Convention Center lobby at 10:30 AM because we were doing our tasting first (which was fine because I woke up at 3:30 AM that morning too excited to go back to sleep…so I was hungry by then). We waited in the lobby for about 10 mins and realized our names were on the board for our tating… I knew by reading others PS TR that they usually do put our names on but it was a surprise for Jeff and he thought it was so neat.

We took some pics with the board and out came Meri to meet us. Let me just say now… WE LOVE OUR PLANNER MERI! She walked us back to the GF kitchen and we walked in and were amazed at how neat it was to be sitting in the middle of the kitchen at this wood carved dinning table.

We also saw our names on the scrolling marquee sign which was cool. I must admit I was looking forwards to those things…but I didn’t want to get disappointed if they were not there.

We sat down and our chef, Joseph, that will be working our wedding came over to introduce himself. I had asked for a lot of items on the menu from other Disney restaurants and he explained that they do their best to make them as close as possible and that he hopes his is actually better. We really liked our chef. We also met our head waiter. He was amazing too, brought us drinks whenever they were half empty and cleared our plates. First we talked about the free menu cards that they provide us and the free napkins and the folds you can choose from. We actually ended up picking an upgraded napkin later at the planning session with a rhinestone napkin ring. Then our hor d'oeuvres came out. We picked the Beef Skewers with Teriyaki sauce – YUM, the crab cakes because Jeff is from Maryland – he said they were very good (I like crabs but not crab cakes), and the chicken and cheese quesadillas – which I was afraid of them being bland and boring…so not the case they were very flavorful. Meri explained that our hor d'oeuvres will be on a table and we will do that part on White Hall’s outside Terrace and that they will be kept warm since we picked all hot items. She also said that we can have the quesadillas cut in Mickey heads!!!!!! That was exciting.

Then our appetizer of the Penne a la vodka came out…so yummmm - I wanted to lick the bowl.

190.jpg

Then our ice slipper raspberry and champagne sorbet came out…. Oh my gosh so freaking cool – if we have any wiggle room in the budget we WILL be doing those. Or if I can sneak them in the budget without Jeff knowing since they are over $20 a person. Now Jeff and I do not drink… and the sorbet has champagne in it. Jeff got a headache from it so if we do them… they will just be raspberry no champagne.

193.jpg

Then our entrée choices came out. We did the parmesan crusted chicken with the mushroom sauce – now I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this but WOW, the oak grilled filet mignon with red wine reduction from Jiko – SPOT ON and so YUMMMMY, and the blackened mahi mahi from Big River Grille (my favorite Disney meal) – very close but not spicy enough for me so they said they can make the guests the way we had at the tasting and mine spicyyyyyy. We also did garlic mashed – nothing special but good and I requested the green beans from Cosmic Rays – perfect!!! Our guests will have a choice of filet and chicken or filet and mahi, but Jeff and I will have a trio in smaller portions…we couldn’t choose just two LOL

028.jpg

We talked some more about how we want the filets cooked and I gave them a list of the well done eaters (me included), and more about who was allergic to what (we know most of who is allergic and to what as our guest list is almost all family)

Then we had a break for about an hour, we went over to GF and I ran into Richard again and got a picture with him.

035.jpg

Then we headed over to Polynesian…all my trips to Disney and I have never been there! I liked it but GF is wayyy better in my opinion. Here are some pretty pictures of Grand Floridian.

After that we head over to Franks, we did the required pictures with us in front fo the doors. We got there about 10 mins early so we went around taking pics of the inside.

Meri came in and we went into the Flora room. We discussed everything WEDDING… how we want our day, ceremony music, cake, and the dessert party. During the beginning planning stages, we opted out of doing a room block. Some of our guests have annual passes (so they can get that discount) and if we did the room block we were told you can not do the dinning plan for our honeymoon. But Meri informed us that even though we didnt do the room block that we still got a free night if our guests booked over 25 nights at a Disney resort. With Jeff's family so big they are using 13 nights alone, with my parents, family friends and then our 6 paid for nights - gets us over the 25!!! So we will stay an extra night and stay at Disney for 7 nights totoal now!!! yeah!!!!!!

We then got to try some cake.

237.jpg

067.jpg

We are doing a 3 tier even though we would have plenty with a 2 tier. I want a certain cake and they can’t do 2 tiers very well with it. We are doing a white cake with the silver ~~And They Lived Happily Ever After~~ with the rhinestone banding and the white chocolate castle on the top. We decided on top tier being marble with milk chocolate filling, middle tier being red velvet with cream cheese filling, and bottom being same as the top marble with milk chocolate filling. Our meeting about the cake ran long because I fell in love with this company that makes Cinderella carriage cake stands, but they charge $700 for one. My dad is extremely handy and is making us one, so I had to get dimensions of the cake and I will need to send those dimensions of the cake stand once we figure it out.

Then we had our meeting with Michelle our floral person. She was very nice. I had brought my 3 inch - 3 ring binder with us and I have 20 tabs in it separating everything…organized yes… know what I want yes…bridezilla maybe LOL

For my bouquet I am using the black red rose…don’t worry it’s not black, just deep deep red. They are almost a burgundy color. And it will have 8 clear Mickey crystals in the bouquet (cause our date is the 8th) and the stems will be wrapped in white satin and have red crystals with hidden Mickey going down the stems. Jeff’s boutonniere will be a single red rose with a hidden Mickey and the stems will also be wrapped in white. The father’s boutonnieres will be a single white rose. The mother’s and grandmother corsages will be able to be pinned or worn around the wrist, they will be spray roses in either red or white (I don’t remember what we picked out).
For the ceremony there will be the $200 amount of silk red rose petals (after this summer they are changing the carpet and cushions in the wedding pavilion to a more neutral color and they are afraid of real red rose petals staining the carpet) sprinkled down the sides and I am supplying our aisle runner from event bella and Disney will put it down for us. We are doing white tulle draped on the pews. And 3 on each side down the aisle of the columns draped in white fabric with the branch centerpieces and they will be moved to reception as centerpieces. We will have petals sprinkled on the alter and I am supplying our own unity candle. The on the brides side of the alter we will do a memorial for the people we have lost – it will be the columns draped with white fabric one for each picture of our lost ones (I will be supplying the picture and picture frame), and one more column draped for a glass hurricane with a white candle and a very small arrangement of white roses – the these will also be moved to reception in the White Hall room.

For the exit I am making our own petal cones, but Disney will be supplying the rose petals in red and white to give it contrast.

For the pre-reception we will be having linens to match inside and chair covers with bows. There will be red rose petals sprinkled on tables and I am providing the centerpieces.

For the reception, we will be having the white crushed romance overlay on the tables and the chair covers with the burgundy satin bow, and the burgundy sating napkin with the rhinestone napkin ring. We will have the silver plate chargers. There will be crystals sprinkled on the tables. We will be using the branch centerpieces (with no butterflies and more crystals) and I am supplying votive candle holders and battery operated candles. On the plate chargers there will be Mickey ears with everyone’s name embroidered as place cards. But we will get the coach chocolate escort cards to be placed outside of White Hall on the marble table. We are getting a price on custom menu cards. The cake table will have clouding and red rose petals and my bouquet will go there. We are doing an Ipod hookup for entertainment.

For the dessert party, we will have black linens and chairs. Note to future brides at Morocco, I think they are trying to make it a no chair dessert party and only do the tall tables…but I fought that issue and we will have 2 tables and 10 chairs and the rest tall tables. For centerpieces we are doing a single cylinder with purple glow gel and 3 of the stars coming out of top.

After our planning session, we were both exhausted, we went to check into our hotel, take a quick nap, and then we had reservations at 1900 park fare for dinner. That dinner was so much fun. I loved it. I think Jeff was a little embarrassed and thought the whole thing was crazy but he was a trooper. The dinner was actually pretty good…I had heard mixed reviews, but I am very glad we went and will be doing it for breakfast during our honeymoon.

Then after dinner we headed over to the boat dock by Narcoossee's to watch the water parade and the fireworks at Disney. It was a pretty good view from there. Then we headed back to our hotel.

In the morning we checked out, and headed over to our appointment with Carolyn Allen’s for Jeff. They were wonderful and we already paid for Jeffs tux and my 2 dress steaming to be done a day before the wedding. Jeff will be wearing a Calvin Klein black tux, with a white shirt, white vest, and white tie. I already got him Mickey cuff links. And we upgraded his shoes with Carolyn Allen's because the standard ones reminded me of a clown.

Then we headed to Magic Kingdom for the day. On the way out of MK, we stopped by the glass place to find something for my mom for mother's day. I ended up getting her a swarovski gold heart necklace and fell in love with a bracelet for me for the wedding day. I passed on my bracelet, but we will be getting that soon!
