Michael Buble - I don't get his appeal

I love Michael Buble! Of course I like Sintra and Harry Jr too. Dh's company hired Michael to perform at one of their gala's ages ago when he was first getting started and he was fabulous in person! And he was so funny!! He won us both over that night and we had never heard of him before! We also got an autographed cd! Very cool!:thumbsup2

I saw him in concert a few years ago and he was quite entertaining. He joked around with the audience and told stories. I hate when performers just stand up there and sing songs the whole time.

I like him. He sings my favorite type of music. I LOVE Sinatra!

I have a few of Michael Buble's cd's. One of the ones I picked up was:
Michael & Frank - Kings of Swing.

You have to listen to the cd and see if you tell who is who. Some are very easy, but some are a little harder.

Here, in Vancouver, he's a local boy made good.

When he signed a major record deal, the start of his international career, I think, he gave a concert.

Half-way through, he said people might be getting hungry right about now and he brought out a bag of salami sandwiches. And, he threw them out to the audience!!!

He's all right.

I'm not a big fan of his type of music but I know some people that just love him. He does have a nice voice and is clearly talented IMO.

I like some of his stuff, especially "Haven't Met You Yet". Love Josh Groban. They do not sing the same type of music.

I also like his music. But I also like Sinatra and other singers and musicians of his era. I love movie musicals from the 30's-50's. I'm also into Harry Connick, Jr.

MarilIncredible: Josh Groban is more classical in styling. I love his music too.

I like Michael Buble, I adore Josh Groban (his voice is angelic!) and I LOVE Harry Connick Jr, to me he is the whole package....voice, personality, looks!

I also had no idea who Josh Groban was when he was first on Glee last fall.

Do the two of them sing the same type of music?
Josh Groban can actually sing.

Buble is a "modern Sinatra" if you want to compare although no one comes close to Sinatra so forgive the comparison.;)

I find nothing "modern" about him, other than he's alive and Sinatra isn't. He's a cheap knockoff. Sinatra had class. Buble comes off as slick instead, and not in a good way. You can't fake class. You either have it or you don't.

I'm also into Harry Connick, Jr.

I can't stand him either. How about being original instead of impersonating some one else?

Connick, Jr's acting is okay though. I liked him in P.S. I Love you. He wasn't doing a bad impersonation then.

I enjoy Michael Buble' "Haven't met you yet" is grand! I play it reallllly loud.. hec the whole neighborhood knows I like it! LOL It makes me very happy...

He is coming to St. Louis in 2 weeks... however I won't be seeing him.. nosebleed, cheap seats are $75.. ouch...

but I will wear out my "Crazy Love" CD.

Different strokes for different folks.

"Haven't met you yet" makes me smile. I can't help but sing along smiling.

I think that's the one he played on SNL? It was really cute, lovely song. DH and I were kinda in tears and smiling listening to the lyrics and watching how much fun he was having while singing.

Sinatra had class? Hmm.

Crooning is crooning. Just b/c one person crooned a few decades ago doesn't mean that others can't do it anymore... If the problem is that they do covers, it's probably because their fans begged them to do it. So they figured "why not?" Covers are fun!

Too bad you don't like HCJr! His songs made me very happy while I was in college.

Yep, those are all of my favorite artists! I also love Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, and Steve Tyrell. "Crooner" type music is just my favorite genre. I also listen to Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli quite often.

Wow, that's judgemental. Have you seen him perform in person to make that kind of judgement? And Sintra had class?? I've seen Michael in concert and he is very entertaining and personable while NOT singing, don't know how you can fake that!!

I have to say I'm a big Michael fan. But I understand why some people dont like his music. His CD's are mostly covers and a couple of "his" songs. To see him live is amazing!! He's a pretty funny guy, and entertains you at his concerts.

Do have to say though..that MB and Josh Groban perform together ALOT. Apparently they are good buddies. So to trash Michael as being slick...kinda works both ways.

Sinatra had class? Hmm.

:lmao: I had to laugh at that comment also!!!!! OMG! Sinatra tried to have class, wanted to have class song like he had class but from what I've read and seen about him, he was pretty classless. Still, I love his style and voice.

:thumbsup2 Funny, I think you either like it or hate it. :lovestruc

I don't know who he is.

You should give it a listen PTG, you will most likely listen and like or quickly turn it off.

I don't find the appeal myself. I am a huge Rat Pack fan and to add in a modern performer I am also a huge Harry Connick Jr. fan. I just don't think Michael Buble has it compared to them. I haven't seen any of these people live, but after watching shows with them performing and listening music on CD/radio I just don't think Michael is nearly as talented as any of those. Not being judgment here, just saying what I hear ;)

I really like him but I like all sorts of music prety much if it isnt rap or punk I will listen

For those that like MB and others of this type of music, you might like to hear Sandi Patty's An American Songbook. All covers, including a couple of Disney songs. Not her usual inspirational music except for 1 song.
