MIB Short CUT

Hi all....

when I was at universal last August (my first trip) we had FOTH Access and headed for MIB.. there was a huge line 90 minute wait because there had been tech problems and the ride had been stopped for a while..

Anyway, I got in the express line and we went to the left and through some doors then there was like a long ramp corridor with railings, some stairs and then we came out right where you board the cars... it was weird coz there was no theming - and I saw mops and buckets and cleaning stuff.

The next time I went on - we went through the left door and a different way where we boarded an elevator, you saw videos and neat stuff.. aliens, etc, safety requirements.. etc... and then a walkway and catwalk stairs to the ride...

Everytime I rode MIB it was always this way and never like the first time I rode... has anyone ever taken this quick short cut through the cleaning supplies before?? LOL

don't you mean you went thru the door on the far right, over by the lockers, the first time.

Where you ended up sounds like where we were when taking the single rider line. It was a great discovery. Several time, my daughter and I rode on the same car. But the time from entrance to there was less than 5 minutes. Plus you don't have to listen to the intro again. In one day, my husband went on MIB 10 times!!!! My son was upset because he only went on 9 times.

It sounds like they went throught the left side of the singles ride and then they were taken down the back stair way that has a curtain in front of it.

so i am standing in front of the ride and looking at the double door entrance and they took you around to the left side of the building and entered a side door at that point.

Or did you go thru the front double doors and then get diverted to the left instead of going onto the elevator???

Hmmmm...

The first time it was like a maintainance area we walked through -

I think it was through the main doors and left - I don't recall walking around the building...

It was just so weird.. we felt we were not supposed to be in that area with mops and buckets lined up along the wall..

Everytime after that it was the normal Express line with the videos, aliens and things to look at...

Odd, it still sounds like the doors on the right where single riders and express always used to be and still are usually...especially when the hallway was described....it's a long hallway that goes up at an incline with a dividing rail between the two isles then almost to the end, on the left, there ARE stairs, though I've never gone down them, and then to go the other way (the more usual way) you go through a door at the end, and enter a queue and are sent down the stairs in 3 different isles, depending on whether you are standby, single rider or Express...This way also avoids the preshow areas, tho I noticed they've added a monitor or two in this hallway.

From what you've said, that definately sounds like the single riders line.

I actually ended up taking that by mistake the first time I went on the ride and got on it in just 60 seconds (normal queue time was probably only 5 mins though - it was a quiet day) and so kept on using that entrance every time after that.

It was only when I got back home and I met other people who'd been on it that I realised what happened. They were all talking about the ride and I was going, "What video? I never saw a video!" and "What are you on about, the queue area wasn't themed at all, it was just like a metal corridor about 100 yards long!"

I know during the christmas time they were running the express pass people through the single riders line area, but then they brought them into the briefing room with the big screen. The only thing that I am thinging is that they were brought down the back stairwell right before the doorway where they bring the single riders in at.

i was there one time just shortly after the ride opened and someone had lost the lunch they had all over the floor. so that the employees could get it cleaned up we were diverted thru a backstage area that i have never been thru since. it was much as you describe and it was thru the curtain/door to the left of the elevator.

Hey!

I went through the same hallway as the person who posted this did! The only thing was that for me we were sent through there 3 years ago, but on our trip last year we were sent through the elevator, etc... I think before they changed how the lines ran together, you use to go through the hallway with some posters, etc...
