Miami vs PC

We live just over an hour from PC so have only ever sailed from there. But, we’re considering a sailing out of Miami in December. How different are these ports in terms of ease of arrival/departure? Is it similar to PC in the way you drive-up, drop luggage, park in a garage, short walk to security and terminal etc? Anything different or crazy to know about sailing from here?

The Miami port terminal is much larger and Disney does not have their own designated terminal. Yes, you can drive up, and drop off your luggage, and then go park. But the parking area is a little further away from where the ship terminal is. That being said, the port is well organized and the signage for where you need to go is well done. The inside of the terminal, because it’s not Disney’s, is not as decorated as Port Canaveral, although they do put up some Disney signage.

The traffic into the port on cruise days was a little insane (pre-pandemic). It's a large terminal. Lots to do near the port if you are looking to see the area. It was a nice change for us. Something different.

Larger, busier, and more expensive to park. Port Canaveral is my favorite cruise port to sail from; so easy!
The view while sailing away from port Miami is more interesting though.

One bonus about sailing out of Miami in December is that it's a lot warmer than Port Canaveral. So you'll likely be able to dress in summer clothes and fully enjoy the pools and sunbathing upon boarding. Not that Port Canaveral is really cold, but it is less summery in winter than Miami.
