Miami questions

Going on back to back out of Miami Feb 2017. Any suggestion on pre cruise hotel, easy on the budget but clean? Also, if we stay near the airport rather than near port, any suggestions for transportation to the port?

We used the Hampton Inn in Blue lagoon because it has a shopping mall right across the street and we were able to buy water, bug spray, lysol wipes, wine, etc. We also considered the Homewood Suites Blue Lagoon and would have preferred that hotel but it was a little further to walk and wouldn't have been great to go shopping with all the rain we got on the day we arrived. Price was reasonable and fairly clean but a little old and outdated. The hotel has a shuttle for 10/pp to the port.

We stayed at the Best Western Miami Airport North. It was $200 for the night. We had a free shuttle to and from the airport, and a pretty decent free hot breakfast. The morning of the cruise, we took the free shuttle back to the airport, and then took the Disney transportation to the port. If I ever do a cruise out of Miami again, I personally would find a hotel close to the port that offers their own shuttle to the port.
