Miami hotels end of Jan 2020

hello,
Can anyone tell me what's happening end of Jan 2020 in miami (near MIA & downtown) because I was looking into a 1 night pre-cruise stay (1/31/20) & all the brand name hotels are fully booked.
our airfare is currently booked thru DCL (redeye flight) but I am now considering 1 night pre-cruise stay but it seems like there is no point as everything is booked from Jan 28-Feb 3..

yep, right on the money WishUpon...thanks! totally forgot about that sporting event...sigh, now the question is should we just stick w/the redeye? can't take time off any sooner..

Just saw your post. Check hotels further away and Uber to port.

Fort Lauderdale is 35-40 minutes, maybe affected by Super Bowl or West Palm.
