Miami and Everglades trip...has anyone done this?

Well I have booked this trip knowing that it is a REALLY long day, now I'm wondering whether it is really worth it. I just wondered whether anyone has done the trip before and if it is worth doing. We went to Crystal River last time we were in FL and I loved it, but my DS is stressed about such a long coach trip. Advice desperately needed on this one as I'm torn!

I can't help with the coach trip part, but once you get down to both Miami and the Everglades it will all be worth it.

Miami is just such an amazing place - beautiful beaches, great shopping and if you get the chance just sit outside in a restaurant and people watch The buildings are fab in Miami as well.

The Everglades are magnificent - go on an airboat ride, your DS will love it.

Friend of mine did Miami a couple of years ago by coach, Someone complained aircon was too cold so then it was too hot, no-one could agree on temp, ended up too warm for them most of journey. They enjoyed Miami but not worth the coach journey.

We thought about doing it last year but our rep told us we would be picked up about 6am and not back until midnight. With a 3 yr old that was just too long. Would love to do it though, maybe next year

Thanks guys. As much as I would love to do this trip I don't think I will cope with my (then) 13 year old son (who has ADHD) in a coach all day, and I really don't think he will manage the trip. We have come to an agreement to spend that money on MVMCP instead!
