We have a THREE HOUR layover in Miami before arriving in Orlando (thanks in part to AA changing our flights around) :crazy: . Are there any sit down restaurants or anything else of any interest at the airport? If anyone has suggestions of how to kill time, I'd appreciate it. We will be very sleepy since we have to get up around 4:00 am to catch our first flight, but beside DH maybe, I don't think we'll be able to fall asleep in the comfy airport chairs. Thanks for any help!

We have had long layovers in many cities (Thank you US Airways/Delta) but that aside, three hours will go by pretty fast. There are tons of restaurants in Miami that are sit down, so you should be able to eat slowly, walk around the shops and be back at your gate an hour or so before scheduled departue. Not to mention, AA starts boarding usually 35 minutes before departure time.....crazy :confused3

If you love latin food, there is a cuban restaurant called La Carreta. It is setup like a cafeteria and even though it is always busy ,their line moves pretty fast. The food is really good and they serve everything from grill pressed sandwiches to rice or potatoes with chicken, pork or meat dishes.I don't remember in which terminal it is located, but, it is next to the AA counter.

popcorn::

Thank you everyone for the encouragement and suggestions! La Carreta sounds great and the website says it is open 24 hours so we should be able to get a nice early lunch and make it back for our boarding at approx. 12:00!

Get a Cuban sandwich

experience the real thing

Just be sure plenty of time if you have to go through security to get to the restaurant.

I beleive there is an airport hotel which you can hang out on the roof at the outdoor pool , sun yourself and watch planes take off!
