MIA from VMK; Dad's stroke

Hey all, I've been MIA in VMK. Came east for the holidays and ended up dragging my dad to the ER with a stroke. Lots of denial with both my parents and no long term planning. So I sent my hubby and kids on their way last week and am getting Dad settled in a nursing home for the short term. Working on a longer term solution.

I sent my laptop with my kids so they could survive the inlaws but that means no internet at all for me

Anyway try to keep the ghosts down without me. Hopefully I'll be back helping by next week.

Thanks to you all for your kind thoughts.

I'm home for a few days to get kids settled and ready to go back to school, then I fly back to my parents to help them some more.

Dad is out of the hospital and into a rehab facility/nursing home. This new place is not a good fit: they aren't trained for wheelchair transfers, they shout (his hearing is fine), and they don't tell him who they are and what they are doing (he is blind so he can't see things coming...imagine someone stuffing a spoon of medicine into your mouth when you are wearing a blindfold.)

I get to play VMK for the next couple of days, then back to the place with no access.
