What is the quickest way to get from MGM to Epcot, and about how long should it take? It seems all the restaurants I want to try are in Epcot! Thanks!

Hope on a boat to YC/BC/BWI. From there you can either switch boats to Epcot or walk.

For me, walking is faster. I've waited for the boat before, but it takes longer. (from what I've noticed)

The quickest way to get from MGM to Epcot would be to grab a taxi near the exit to MGM. They are usually on hand.

Enjoy.

The boats go from MGM to Epcot stopping at Swan/Dolphin, BC, and BW before arriving at Epcot. According to the captains it is an hour round trip so I guess a half hour from one to the other. It's certainly walkable.

Hi!
I agree with the above. Take a boat to BC/YC, get off and take a wonderful stroll to EPCOT. Its only about a 10 minute walk. By the way, at the bottom of the ramp before you go into E., is a great souvener shop! We found things there that we didn't see anywhere else.

Hope this helps..

We have done both and it depends on the mood for us. The boat takes a little over 20 min with all the stops. When we walk it can be done in about 15 min. We tested it one time as a boat was leaving the studios and we beat it easily. It is a pretty long walk so if you are tired this may not be a good idea. We love the Epcot resort area and try and stay there as much as possible.

I thought there was bus service from MGM to Epcot. Am I wrong? Wouldn't that be the fastest?

There is no bus service from MGM to Epcot. Disney transportation is by boat. Walking at a reasonable pace is definitely quicker than taking the boat the whole way (unless you are walking with children not in strollers). If you don't want to walk the whole way, my suggestion would be to take the boat to Swan/Dolphin (which gets you about half way to Epcot) and then walk the rest of the way there; you will definitely beat the boat to Epcot, as it then has two more stops before getting there.

We tried the boat last September trying to get to Epcot for our ADR at Le Cellier. If you attempt to do the boat I would definately leave MGM at least 1 1/2 hours before you plan to eat. Walking in our case would have been extremely quicker. It all depends on how long you have to wait for the boat to arrive at MGM. We had to wait a good 20 minutes just for the boat to arrive and then it seemed like we waited another 10 minutes at the dock for any other passengers that might be wandering out of the park that might want to take the boat. After that we were finally on our way, but once we reached Boardwalk we had another several minute wait just in case somebody wandering around Boardwalk wanted to hop on. At this point we were very sure we could have walked to Epcot and back during this time. I would say walking is much faster than the boat unless you are able to board the boat as soon as you get to the launch. If there is a bus that should be quicker, but I am not sure if there is one.

I just got back yesterday and we took a bus from Epcot to MGM...don't know if it works in reverse, but I don't see why not.
