I am curious to see what restaurants everyone thinks are among the better ones to dine at MGM. I think our reservations are for the Italian restaurant (don't know the name). Is this among the better ones, are there other notable dining places to try? Any advice would be appreciated.

The Brown Derby is our favorite restaurant at MGM. The food is excellent and the service is great.

Mama Melrose's and 50's Prime Time are the only TS that we will return to, haven't tried Brown Derby yet. Mama's is VERY good. Love the calamari there :cloud9:

50s Prime Time is the only one we go to. Did not care for Brown Derby or Mama Melrose.

Brown Derby is the best sit-down restaurant in MGM, but it's pricey and be hard to get into.

I Love the ambiance! and the food is great too!

The only place we will eat at in MGM is 50s Prime Time, did not like any of the other TS places

Sci-Fi is fun but the food is OK. Mama Melrose's is above average at best. Prime Time is the worst place to eat in all of WDW

Our fam loves PT 50s, for the atmosphere and food. Sci-fi, on the other hand~ We collectively agreed that we got comparable hamburgers from Wendys or Dennys:confused3
And the bill!

I realize that you pay for atmosphere as well as food, but I couldnt even see the menu w/ out a flashlight. Wont be back. In fact, really, I should have just left instead of using the flashlight to read the menu. It was a bad sign, for us, and I ignored it :confused3

on Disney property that we will NEVER return to. We have tried it twice, the second time worst than the first. I will admit that we are Italian food snobs, given our Boston roots and family ethnicity. However, we can stand Macaromi Grille - type establishments. We found not only the food quality lacking, but also the service. The atmosphere was fine, but again we are used to quaint ristorante-type places.

I agree with most here, 50s Prime Time is the ONLY way to go while at MGM. We often plan our meals for before or after a day/evening at MGM.

Our reservation is for Mama Melrose's next week. Based on what I'm seeing, it is highly recommended. I'm confident I made the right decision. For the people that have it narrowed to 50's prime time and Mama's....which one would you pick? My wife and I are the only diners- no kids.....although we like an entertaining ambiance:cool1:

I'd eat (and intend to!) at 50s Prime Time first, then Mama Melrose's...my family didn't care for Brown Derby when we ate there once about 10 years ago, so I'm probably not the best judge of that place. But we never miss 50s Prime Time when in WDW!

I liked 50s and did not care for Brown Derby. Not worth 2 TS in my opinion. Haven't tried the others.
