MGM question

The last time I was at WDW was about 7 years ago I think. Back then at MGM they would have celebrities come in at times and do the hand prints in front of The chinese theater. There would be a parade etc...
Back then Don Knotts was the celebrity that was therethe day we went.
Do they still do this?

I have never seen this. We have been numerous times in the past 2 years.

When MGM first opened they had what I think was called "Star of the Day" a lot of times, but they don't have it any more. It was pretty neat to be fairly certain that you'd see someone famous....But from all the posts about star sightings (my son would LOVE to see Steven Tyler) you might just get lucky!!

I remember those days too,but I don't think they do it anymore. We saw Richard Petty one trip.

Years ago they use to have the celebrity of the week or day or something.Before Sunset Blvd was built there use to be a small theater that looked like the Paladium in LA.The celeb use to do a question and answer thing from there.It was pretty cool.

The only time I know "for sure" that any sort of celeb will be there is during Star Wars weekends and Super Soap weekends.

I heard right here on the DIS that Aerosmith's Steven Tyler was there this weekend....siiiiiigh...why couldn't he have waited until next weekend when I'm there?!?! RATS!

Yes I did read about Steven Tyler . That's what got me thinking about this. Too bad they don't do it anymore. It was lots of fun.

In 1997, DH and I were at MGM with a friend, and the celebrity of the day was John Davidson. We saw him at that theater Baloo was talking about- there was a Q&A session with him. We didn't know about it in advance and kinda stumbled onto it... actually kinda fun!
