Has anyone gotten chosen for this? How so? Where? That is something Bf and I would really enjoy... I saw some very cute pictures of a couple on their honeymoon who got chosen a while back, but I don't remember where! Just wondering how these people are chosen, and if anyone has gotten to experience this! :goodvibes

Grand Marshals are chosen totally at random. You can't "reserve" a spot in the parade, and there's no where you can request to be GM. It's the luck of the draw.

I figured you couldn't "request" it, but just thought I'd ask how people got to be so lucky! That's where the pixi dust comes in I guess :p

My kids were chosen to be in MGM's Christmas parade one year and it was definitely random. As we entered the park that day a CM with a clipboard in her hands walked up to us and I thought to myself "Oh no, she wants us to stand here and do a survey" and I almost smiled and walked on by but she snagged us and asked if we'd like our kids to be in the parade. "Sure" we said. Then, after telling us the parade would start in about 20 min, she took our kids and disappeared through the gate of the large wood fence near the park entrance. My husband and I stood there and waited -- as it occurred to us we had just let our children leave with a total stranger. But soon they emerged as part of the parade -- dressed as Christmas tree ornaments along with about 8 or 10 other kids. Great magical moment!

How old were your kids at the time?

My kids were 6 and 8 when they were chosen to be in the parade. The other kids in the parade looked to be between 5 and 10.
