MGM or AKL

I am so confused!
For our upcoming October trip, I am going to have to choose between AKL and MGM. On my kids first trip to WDW we did MGM and AKL.
On the last trip with my DD and DS, we went to MGM instead of AKL. Now, I am going back with DD, DS, DstepD(16), and my dear friends DD(13). My DstepD and my friends DD have never been to WDW before. I would love to go to AKL and walk the animal trails since we did not get to do that when we were there before. I am afraid it would be boring to all the kids though. I am thinking MGM would make the kids happier, but I just need some advice from you pro's out there

Did you ask the kids what they wanted to do? Although walking the animal trails sounds nice, imo I think they would enjoy MGM more just because MGM has rides.

I'm assuming that you don't/won't have a hopper pass,as you could go to AK in the morning & then hop to MGM in the afternoon.But if I had to choose it would be MGM all the way-ok Bug's life is excellent,Dinosaur & the safari good but there is just more at MGM to keep you entertained!

Thanks for the help!!! I have not asked the kids what they want to do because they do not know about the trip! It is going to be a surprise
I do believe that MGM is going to be the answer. I think our 2 WDW newbies will enjoy that better.

I have to agree with Shooby doo. If you have a hopper, do AK in the morning because you can pretty much cover the park in a few hours. It closes at 5, anyway. The beauty about MGM is that it closes late every night because of Fantasmic, so you could pick up MGM in the late afternoon.

If you do NOT have hopper passes, I also agree with the general consensus that MGM is the favored park, especially for young adults.
